THAT one guy seems to be THE current prime scapegoat for "todays bad music" of about a godzillion people. Well, not to be protective of the guy myself minde you, but why is he the ONLY ONE ever taking the brunt? How about laying off him and giving him a little needed rest and leveling some of the ire at some OTHER current musical acts that are just as lousy ?

Pretty much any hip-hop/rap or nu-metal act!

Wait a minute, you cannot put Adele on that list, she is one of the best artists of today. I will say that her success has left her overexposed, but that does not mean that her music is terrible.

The difference between Lady Gaga and a lot of the artists mentioned is that Gaga composes her own music. Even if you consider her music crap, I don't feel that she belongs on such a list because of this. But that could just be me.

And to be honest, I don't know if Beeber is bad or not. I've never actually heard any of his music.

Most of them are on here already,I have to throw in Madonna though.Since for some DUMB reason, the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame has inducted her.Justin Beebheads music, if you want to call it that, sounds like a robotic baby with diareha.Katy Perry is just, well not good at anything.Ashlee Simpson!!!! - Clay Aiken - Tom Petty - even Rush has let me down soooooo much.Dont know, what has happened to music, but, it is sadly going down the crapper.

GarionOrb says:
Madonna kind of deserved the hall of fame nod. Despite the name, they don't just induct true Rock N Roll acts. Besides, you can't deny that Madonna has handled her career like a true rock star for the past 30 years.

Besides, Madona is pretty much OF ANOTHER ERA and the o.p. specificaly said CURRENT acts OF TODAY , .. . ya know, contemporaries of infamous and roundly reviled J.B. ?

Not necessarily. Madonna's new album comes out in February.

I can not remember a time in my life when people didn't complain about the current state of music. I think the test of time is what truly separates good and bad music. The good stuff has staying power. The rest is quickly forgotten.

Any country singer peddling the offensive redneck stereotypes that marginalize the genre for anyone else. Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Toby Keith, for starters.

All of the cookie-cutter Disney or otherwise synthetic, manufactured teen idol cuties, like Bieber. Disney's been doing this ever since the Annette/Hayley Mills era back in the 50s. Memo to Disney: not every actor can sing!

I can't think of 20...I'm in my 30s and I'm not really up on "the young people." But I heard Taylor Swift sing on Saturday Night Live and again on an award show and her voice is very, very weak. She's a cute girl but...yikes.

She makes Beiber sound like Pavarotti!

Really. Also Madonna, she's never gone away completely, more's the pity. Even got inducted into the R&RHOF, for shame.

Here's the problem with your reasoning, Savage Lucy. Just because an artist writes their own material does not exclude them from being terrible. If anything, it just gives people more fuel for the fire. A lot of people that compose their own songs are oftentimes worse than the people who don't (See: Bon Jovi, John Denver, etc.).
