The second by second posts of religious threads and Michael Jackson threads are like quotes from the Una bombers rant. Its a blind dedication a tribute to total faith and diefication of an idea, unquestioning.

The Michael Jackson chat room titles are like a room full of crazy. Very weird really seemingly satirical but completly nuts. The discussions on him and any religion are identical and cult like, long rants of unquestioning devotion and any deviation punished.

Even my aunt whos maiden name was Kennedy had to eventually admit that the political Kennedy family was deeply faulted.

Manson, Koresh, Jackson, Jesus, Mohamed all discussions by followers go on faith. You can't discuss faith it just is. If the Michael Jackson cult wants to preach do it in the padded rooms in Napa State not in music discussion groups.

There are lots of people out there who are obsessed with a lot of things for a while and then they eventually move on. My mother is obsessed with shows about murder, she watches Dateline, 20/20, etc. religiously especially when the topic is an unsolved murder. (she is in no way a murderer though, she is just interested in police and murder type shows).

My husband is obsessed with cars and watches all shows on television about car restoration, Jackson Barrett auctions, etc.

Other people are obsessed with other topics.

I really do feel it's an escape valve for people to develop these obsessions to escape reality for a little while. Especially with a lousy economic climate.

It's easy to escape for a little while on the computer or watch endless shows about your area of interest with DVR's, Google searches, etc. Many people are strapped for cash right now and can't go on vacations, out to dinner, etc.

So they develop these 'obsessions'. They become a hobby of sorts.

Anyway that's my theory.

Well duh, last time I noticed Michael Jackson was a musical artist. Since you seem to be so offended by him and those that admire him, then why on earth would you make a new thread with his name on it? Unless of course you want to discuss him, there would be no point in starting this thread, ain't that right?

One thing I have noticed about these MJ threads on the music forum, is that most of them have been started by non fans, so obviously even those that are not fans want to discuss him, you included.

On the Liberace tread i said, "The Michael Jackson cult is crazier than Charles Manson and the Moonies combine. And with your closed eyes and unquestioned faith and devotion, you preach to a world that has moved on , But , we will still listen to his music, not to worship him and deify him. Michael Jackson had faults just like the rest of us, he is no better, he didn't walk on water , open your eyes , don't drink the Cool Aid."

I said " but we will still listen to his music,"!! I also started a thread , a while ago,(totally ignorant of the MJ cult) truly on merit and curiosity i had about the music and similarities of Prince and Michael Jackson which turned into a evangelist Jackson forum and informed me of your cult.

Ummm....I'll take Una Bomber for $200 Alex.

A Unabomber can blow these up for the good of mankind.
What are the Michael Jackson & Religious threads.

Any thread started sincerely to discuss Michael's music eventually draws haters who hurl lies and hate about him. This in turn, draws his supporters who feel compelled to INFORM the MISinformed. This is evangelizing? I think the use of the words "evangelizing" and "cult" are hyperbole on your part.

I would like to say that I do not like this new thread very much at all, as a matter of fact it is a rather rude one.
I will not continue to post messages here.
Nice try Mr. Fernandez, well done!

Tiger Lilly, you just posted on another thread that you find an artist "creepy" because he was gay. You shouldn't throw stones about being rude.

Let's see....

19,000 facebook pages dedicated to Michael Jackson with one of them having over 19,000 million fans. Approx 10,000 discussion boards on the internet dedicated to MJ. One of the most active forums on the Amazon community. The most downloaded artist in history. Mega record sales for the past 40 years and more into the future.

I'd say that all those people don't really give a rat's a$$ what the person thinks who started this thread. If you don't like it, don't go there. I bet the people in the amazon religion community don't really care what you think either. If this thread is just a joke then I apologize but the MJ fans have gotten trashed in the music forum for the past year and it cannot really be considered a joke.

I'm with nikki98, any sincere attempt to discuss the music of Michael Jackson gets hijacked by trolls. It's not worth engaging with people like that. Just like someone said in the new thread created about the Beatles, you don't have to like them but you can't ignore their contribution to music. The same can be said about Michael Jackson but an honest discussion can't be had about it. I don't even try anymore except up in the MJ community.

Please discuss his music but don't deify him. You're posts about Michael Jackson have nothing to do with his music, in fact any discussion of his music is clouded by unquestioning zombie like devotion to a made up image.

i realise now music , is mute to all of you ,Michael Jackson is Just a overused icon, and the bible of your delusions keeps Michael Jackson threads alive .

Preaching in a padded room sounds like fun, although a lot would depend on those locked in there with you.

Even I knew that the term was "moot" and I never went to law school.

But that's a moot point.

Thanks for the racial insults. Ignorant racists , how's the sun in Arizona? My meaning was that the music doesn't matter to you, i phrased it clumsily.

You don't care about music , you are just raising Michael to become a myth. He will not rise from the dead, he did not raise Lazrus from the dead, he just made music. Which is secondary to all of the crazies writing a new bible with Michael Jackson in the role of Jesus.

The only one who is discussing MJ as Jesus is you Anthony. There is no fan that I know of on the music board that believes Michael was Jesus and/or God. He was an extrordinary human being and like ALL human beings, he had has flaws. He was a very spiritual man with very strong beliefs that he abided by, which is the ONLY way in which he has any connection with God.

You and others who don't like Michael Jackson are just using this as yet another EXCUSE to fuel your hatred for him and his admirers. The fans are admirers and advocates, not cultists, not religious zealots, so get real about it.

Well duh, Michael Jackson was a musical artist/entertainer and that is why there are threads about him on the music thread. Since when are you the Amazon police? Everyone has the right to choose who they admire as an entertainer, and just because YOU do not like it, doesn't mean that you have any say in who we discuss as a musician.

If you don't like the topic, then stay off the thread, easy peasy. Find one that you do like and post your heart out. Got it!

Anthony, you're not being entirely fair.
Yes, many Michael Jackson defenders are zealous to the point of being repetitive, self-righteous, and annoying. But so are many, many Michael Jackson attackers.
Me, I enjoy his music, I appreciate his talent, but I couldn't care less about the 50,000 posts slavishly trying to dispute every controversial claim (Paulie, those dozens of "one-letter" posts are basically spamming/trolling), or the other 50,000 posts that slavishly try to attack him.

D. mean if I expanded on what Yana said, it wouldn't be trolling? I didn't want to be repetitive. The hater comments are repetitive, boring, and tiring, hence the repetitive remarks back. But, I'm only here for a short while longer. Have no interest in continually defending my taste in a particular artist. Of course, if someone sees "Michael Jackson" in a thread, they pretty much know what's going to be in there, and I would think they would just avoid the inevitable. I don't quite get that one either. You know going into a thread one knows will have repetitive, annoying, boring comments. Including making up a thread with his name in it. I mean, why go there? While I appreciate your "helping" me to not be a troll (certainly not my intention), I'm a big girl and have quite enough of people telling me and other Michael fans what they should be doing. One suggestion to you, stop clicking on threads with his name on it, more than likely you will not see me or any of the other familiar names. Besides being annoying, I'm annoyed.
