I don't visit this forum often but I usually see multiple posts from folks looking for new authors to read.

The Literature-Map site allows you to type in the name of an author you like and it then makes a map of other, similar authors. The closer to the center the more similar.

For example, I typed in James Lee Burke and saw some old favorites lite Lawrence Block, Walter Mosley, and Robert B. Parker. But, I also saw authors I'm not familiar with such as Andrew Vachss, Thomas McGuane, and James Crumley.

If you're just looking for someone new to try Literature-Map is a good resource.

there is also - where you can plug in a book title and get recommendations

if you are on goodreads, when you look at a book - they also have a section that is, readers also enjoyed
