I know these kind of lists are pretty common in such forums, but here at Amazon there aren't any Topics asking about your favorite game on probably the best Handheld console that ever existed.

The DS library is home to some of the best games ever. And a ton of them to keep you busy for a lifetime. But opinions always vary on which is the best game that ever released on the handheld console.

Sooo to make things simpler, which is your top favorite games for the Nintendo DS.

Mine are:
Dementium 2
Pokemon White
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Radiant Historia
Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

* Yes 3DS games count on this topic. Now tell me yours :)

Same here. And the DS version of Ni no Kuni too.

Oh, lord, even with the knowledge I have, going through the scientific psychological philosophic mumbo-techno-jargon in Xenosaga is painful.

I haven't played VVVVVV or Mutant Mudds. Are they as good as people say? Visually, they seem to be a little bad, but I can't really say anything about it...

You don't really play VVVVVV for the visuals. They're intentionally supposed to look like the Commodore 64. The game is excellent. Tough, but really good and well-designed. The 8-bit-sounding music is amazing as well! Not very can probably beat it in just over 2 hours.

Definitely the Lego series of games for the ds. And Super Princess Peach, although platformers aren't usually my favorite. And the Layton series. As for the 3ds, I haven't gotten much of a chance to play it yet, so I can't say.
Dsiware-I liked the Oregon Trail, Hints Hunter and the Vegas slots games.

Posted on Feb 5, 2012 7:18:48 PM PST
Debra, how does Oregon Trail for the ds compare to the pc version? I have it for the pc...although its several years old, and its a little boring. I like the idea of the game, but need more action...or something. :)

Toni-I never played the pc version so I can't say. The dsiware version was cute though. I'm interested in getting back to the 3ds version of it now that my wrist is better. I had only just started it on the 3ds when I had to quit cuz my wrist couldn't handle it. That version seemed to be quite a bit more involved.

I have over 200 DS games (including my son's) and about 25 3DS games, so it is a bit tough to decide:

Anyway, here is my list:

*** DS ***
Super Mario Bros (a bit simple and overrated, but still a nice romp)
Yoshi island (so many stuff, I haven't finished it yet)
Ridge Racer
Harry Hatsworth (an overlooked gem, with tons of levels, secret levels and difficulty levels)
Mario & Luigi Partners in Time

*** 3DS ***
Super Mario 3D Land
RE: revelations
Ridge Racer 3D
Skylanders: Spyro

I have, but haven't played yet: Legend of Zelda: OoT3D and Cave Story.

*** Dsi ware and eshop ***
Risky's Revenge (excellent game, but a bit short)
Puzzle Quest
Warioware: Snapped (a bit too short).

Favorite - "The last Window" - Dsi XL

"Kid Icarius" - 3DS

I have a 3DS and 26 games on it. Love the system. It is very good at 3D Augmented Reality games like the upcoming Spirit Camera.

The adventure game I have on it - Hollywood Crimes I really enjoy. There are more adventure games coming - like the 999 Part 2 game (Virtue's last Reward) mentioned.

The Prof Layton clone (Dr. Lautec) has solid reviews - reviewers in general have been good to it. And many really enjoy the game.

I have a Dsi XL that I prefer playing adventure games on. Bigger screens and the screens are of equal size. This system is still getting releases and support.

On my Dsi XL I have 108 games - 86 of which are adventure games and I don't even have all of them I could own. All of these games will play on a 3DS.

We don't see a fraction of the DS adventure games made for the Japanese market. There are hundreds released there we never see here in the US.

For a game system only 1 year old the amount of adventure games on it is fine. We have 2 right now and another 2 to be released within a year. I only have 1 adventure game from the first 24 months of the DS - Trace Memory.

There is a 3DS XL in the works with dual 4.5 inch screens which will be perfect for adventure games. It will also have dual analog sticks.

FYI - Ghost Trick winning best handheld game, best DS game, etc. etc. and "Mask of Miracle" being the best selling game on the 3DS system at launch ensure's a good supply of adventure games on Nintendo systems both Ds and 3DS in the future.
