How can we trust "Organic" product that have their ORIGIN in China? Does this disturb anyone else?

I see no reason to distrust USDA certification more or less just because of geographic origin. China isn't full of evil people... For what it's worth, all the tainted products from China that have been on the news were produced by American companies, with American executives at the helm.

It is very disturbing and should not be trusted. Read this article:
China uses a third party to determine whether organic standards have been followed, the U.S is not allowed to inspect. The article says all it needs to about organic food from China.

Just had this discussion with my hubby. I purchased "organic" crystallized ginger, origin from China. I usually read my labels better, and wouldn't have purchased it if I had. It tastes a little like soap :(

Why bother? Get your organic stuff from local farmers.

Why bother? Just because a grower does not use pesticides, his neighbors may to avoid his pests migrating to their crops in neighboring fields. Have you ever watched cropdusting ? They really don't have a lot of control where the wind sends their chemicals and since they do it at night you just don't know, do you?

Watch Food Inc, and you'll understand why local organic farmers struggle so. Latrino Beaudet is absolutely correct.

I want my organic foods to come from the US or locally, but not from China.
