the latest that ive heard is yes, they will get their own story but whether it will be a back story, a novella or a main story is still up in the air.

According to a chat transcipt with Ward, the Blay/Qhuinn will most likely be a novella and will focus on the m/m relationship only. This was being contemplated so that fans who are offended by m/m can skip it without missing important "big picture" stuff in the BDB world. I don't believe this the "final answer" but it sounds like the working plan.

What I have heard is a novella, it has a max length (so many thousand words) it can be, and her regular publisher won't publish it. Her publisher said she can shop it around to someone else, but they put the length clause in there, as I guess they "own" her right now. No idea yet on when it'll be coming out though.

Kind of on a side note here, but Ward said in one of her chats, that she's also going to write 2 Slices of Life on Mary and Rhage's baby and Wrath and Beth having their kid too. It's going to be a while but it'll probably be pretty good. I just checked the boards, and she still doesn't have an answer to the Blay/Qhuinn thing. But at least we know they get their HEA together!

I think the idea of adoption for Rhage/Mary has been mentioned although it is possible that Ward finds a way around Mary's infertility in the BDB world.

BamaGirl - Wow! Luke and Laura. Haven't heard that couple mentioned since forever. They really were a phenom weren't they?

My sister went the entire 4 years at college never having a class during General Hosptial because she couldn't miss Luke and Laura.

I guess Rhage and Mary could adopt. If they somehow got around her being able to naturally have a baby that would be cheating the whole deal made with the Scribe Virgin.

Well, not the only one. I would have preferred Qhuinn end up with a female but, since that isn't going to happen, I have accepted the Qhuinn/Blay pairing as inevitable. I am even prepared to like them together and am curious to see how Ward writes their HEA.

BamaGirl- Ward has said that Rhage and Mary are considering adoption to have their kid. I'm pretty sure there's no way out of Mary being infertile.

I like the idea of Blay with Qhuinn...I did not like him with Saxton (and I thought I would). I just have a hard time seeing Qhuinn give up the females. Maybe he could have both females AND Blay?

Why would Blay stand for that any more than any other bonded mate? Bisexuality isn't a get out of monogamy free card. :D

That the infinitely gormless revoltingly passive aggressive Layla will most likely be a lead in a book - with the poor sucker of Ward's choice - and Quinn and Blay won't shows there's no justice in the universe.

I'd like to see Rhage and Mary adopt. I'm so tired of magically reversed infertility in books and adoption is a viable alternative and a beautiful act.

-- I now have the Christopher Cross "Think Of Laura" song in my head. Er thanks.

Bwah! I think I've been reading too much L.K. Hamilton.

I don't really like Qhuinn and Blay together...I'm not so sure that Qhuinn is good for him. He was always taunting him by flaunting his conquests right in front of him and hurting Blay with that, almost like a "look what you can't have" thing. BUT...have to trust the WARDen. It's not like I always think people in my real life end up with those who are the best for them, either!

Interesting info, guys. Thanks.

**Luke and Laura...wow! That brought back some memories! LOL**

Sylvie says:
I think Blay and Qhuinn are perfect together, and, like so many of Ward's other couples, will bring out the best in each other. While Qhuinn has certainly had more than his share of conquests, the only woman he's ever really respected has been Blay's mom, and I think he's finally realizing that Blay means more to him than any conquest. I only hope that they get their own book (even though it doesn't look like it...) I just hate to see their story relegated to a novella after everything we've seen them go through. They're better characters than that!

As for Mary and Rhage, I'm assuming they'll be adopting. It would be cool if they could adopt a child who was orphaned when Lash killed off so many in the Glymera.

I so agree with this. Layla gets on my last nerve. I heard she may get her own story, but does anyone know her bondmate will be? I might skip that book unless I hear she gets a personality implant.

<<I like the idea of Blay with Qhuinn...I did not like him with Saxton (and I thought I would). I just have a hard time seeing Qhuinn give up the females. Maybe he could have both females AND Blay? >>
Aren't they both bisexual? I thought they had shared women in the past. If that's the case maybe it would make sense for them to have a MMF pairing. In any case, they'd still need a gal at least for the blood sharing. But I guess just the two guys could bond and then they'd use a chosen for the blood. I also find it unlikely that Qhuinn would want to give up gals entirely.

donna cravey: i didnt want blay and qhuinn together, but like you,i have to accept it. its has nothing to do w/ the m/m thing,i would love blay to find someone. tyrannis: i think qhuinn is good enough for him and i'll tell you why. first, qhuinn told blay up front that he didnt want to be with him,so he wasnt leading him on. second, most people who first come out of puberty(which is basically what happen to them),dont think, yes,i what to be in a relationship and in love. no,they think, time to have fun, sex, etc. so we cant fault him for that. third,he cant have sex anywhere else,he cant leave john matthews side, and blay decides to be there. fourth, qhuinn has sacrificed himself,to help protect john matthews,to me, thats hero like. fifth, qhuinn has had a hard life, and nobody can be perfect. i dont know,i really feel for him,and have grown to really like him. i just hope hes happy.

It's hard for me to accept Blay and Quinn as each other's HEA and I'll tell you why. Does Ward REALLY expect me to believe it took the Brothers a hundred years to find their HEAs but 2 punk kids (and that's what they are in my mind. Have they been shown any differently?) 6 months out of transition are each other's HEA? No way.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 7, 2010 7:23:57 AM PDT
B. Szwiec says:
It started long before, when they were pre-transition. Imo, that was one of the best passages in LM...at the end when Qhuinn reflected on their bond growing up before deciding to let Blay go. Growing up flawed in their aristocratic society, Blay was the only one who accepted him unconditionally...even loved him unconditionally, I'd guess. Now, John Matthew and the Brotherhood seem to be offering something the same, but still very new.

I can't remember from the earlier books when the training program first started - did Qhuinn and Blay know each other before being recruited by the Brotherhood?

Honestly, I kind of wish Qhuinn had found a female, and Blay ended up with someone else. However, since I know their HEA is inevitable I've pretty much accepted it. Their scenes together are still heartbreaking and powerful and I'm actually surprised at how much I grew to like them. Blay is a total sweetheart and Qhuinn is really a good guy. I'm interested in where things will go next.
