Wow, there were a lot of blast from the past series on that (2009) list - a lot of which are still going (I think it might have been meant to be a complete list of series, rather than a list of completed series) I was sort of sad to see that a few of these series never finished but just faded into oblivion.

Tairen Soul is completed, but I saw a blog by the author saying that she hopes to do spin off books about Galen, Bell, etc. (I hope!!)

The description for The Winter King makes it seem like it's something totally new--not set in the same world as Tairen Soul. Unless Summerlea is one of the lands in that world? See below:

When the heir of Summerlea stole Wynter Atrialan's bride and murdered his brother, the Winter King swore vengeance on the neighboring southern kingdom. Now, after three years of merciless war, Summerlea is crushed, and the conquering Wynter aims a final blow at his enemy's heart by demanding one of the Summer King's beloved daughters in marriage.

But the Summer King has a fourth daughter...one of whom he is not so fond. And she is is no sweet, helpless princess-in-a-tower. She is a fiercely passionate creature, with a nature as volatile as the dangerous forces of her weathergift, the power of storms.

Interesting how so few series have actually ended. I guess the temptation is to let a series that is selling go on and on and on. Of course, only putting out 1 book a year doesn't help move things along very rapidly.

Those books could very well not be released for another 3 years. I feel that KMM's Fever series has been brought to a point that readers can at least read all of them without all of the angst of waiting for the next one especially with her love of cliffhangers.

@lulu:
That is another reason i like Larissa Ione. She plots out her universe and so you know where she is going. She also seems to keep her series under 7 books, even though i feel like LOD is a continuation of the Demonica series.

@D. Watson: Based on the current discussions at Goodreads, I wish I had read the Highlander series before the Fever series. they are pointing out all this stuff that connects both series

Lulu says:
The Highlander series is really only very loosely connected to the Fever series. And they are so different, especially the earliest Highlander books which you can tell are some of KMM's first published work. They get better rapidly but they are most definitely romance and not UF. No dark and gritty there, except perhaps a bit of the book on Daegus MacKeltar.

I agree @Lulu.
