I recently purchased a Sigma 19mm lens here at Amazon.com. The Warranty information requires a Dealer's Name and Address to be supplied in addition to the purchase date. What information should I use? The Seller suggested using Amazon.com "since they are an authorized dealer" but I have no address. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you buy it from Amazon or did you buy it from a marketplace seller here on Amazon? Just because you paid through Amazon does not mean you bought it from them, look under the "Sold By" section on your order. If the seller is not Amazon, and they are not an authorized Sigma dealer, then you need to rethink whether the lens is covered by a warranty or not, and if they told you to "just use Amazon" you need to rethink your entire purchase, it could be a grey market lens with no warranty at all.

Thank, Everyone, including ButI'mFeelingBetterNow..., for replies. I realized, after the purchase, that I had dealt with an individual that had purchased a bundled set of 19mm and 30mm Sigma Lenses. He didn't want to keep the 19mm and put it up for sale. Although it was not listed as used and although he is willing to accept a return, I have decided to keep the lens since it is in New Condition and not go through the hassle of returning and getting the refund. I'll hope that I never have a problem with it and I'll have to chalk up another Internet buying experience as an education. My future purchase practice will be the inclusion of a confirmation email to the seller, confirming that the item for sale is both brand new and warrant-able n my name should I purchase it- including a confirmation of whether the seller is an "authorized seller". Capitalism at its best is seeing who and to what extent you can screw the consumer.
