How come our on-line play keeps getting the "connection interrupted" message? My kids are playing Black Ops 2 and the multiplayer never seems to work for very long. They keep getting booted out of rooms. Any ideas why this happens, and how to fix it? Thanks.

bad connections, the host kick them off, ur internet signal is weak. there can be many different reasons why. just have to keep trying.

Is the Nat Type 2? Do a quick connection test to make sure. You don't want 1 or 3. If worse comes to worse you might have to open some ports. Make sure your router can do UPnP as well.

(Some of these tutorials assume your routers IP is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 , but not all routers do this. To make sure you have your routers IP, assuming you are in Windows 7, press the Start button and type in cmd to open a command prompt. In the black prompt box, type in ipconfig and hit the Enter key - whatever is listed as Default Gateway is the IP)

Hello QuirkyKoala,

Regarding the "connection interrupted" message; This can occur if the host of the game has quit or had an interrupted connection themselves and there are no other suitable hosts to migrate to. Alternate reasons are an intermittent connection on your end, packet data loss, or the time of day your kids play. Try taking a look at the in-game system info screen and check your in-game NAT type and Bandwidth. This can be found by going to Multiplayer>Options>Select Button(PS3)/Back Button(Xbox). We have an article on our support site with information on how to improve your connection along with port forwarding info. Please give it a look over and try it out, it just may help.
