This free promotion will run until Sunday 29th April. Feedback is welcome.

This collection has 50 poems and an active table of contents for navigation.

My poetry tends to follow a rhythm moreso than a rhyme and I use visual metaphors to express myself through the motions. It perhaps follows a slightly more 'indie' route than mainstream commercial, though it can vary on the poem.

Gothic Baroque is a visionary journey through love and lust, rebellion and political unease, spiritual and personal growth.

This collection can be seen as a journal detailing the existential angst and evolution of a person going through challenging life experiences, but holding on to the belief that there is purpose and through purpose, progress.

Each verse takes that journey further, with life lessons being experienced and recorded, and like most journeys one has to stick with it to the end; there are dark parts, amusement, observation, self-doubt, love, positive affirmation and warmth

Gothic Baroque.

Here is a sample poem:

Chasing Daydreams with Tattered Wings

Your presence remains in ashes in the tray,
Red lights flash as the ambulance takes my feeling away.
Footprints dissolve into splattered stains,
Strange to suddenly realise you weren't worth it anyway,
That everything I felt and feel means nothing in this moment of clarity.

Sweep the stars from these dazzled eyes,
Cloud my memories, drunk on the dirt that came with desire.
Tripping on uneven ground, led by the smile rehearsed on swollen lips,
Fighting for the honey to taste something sweet,
Bitterness resolves the spite born from hate.

The fever passes, I recognise the chill,
Heart beats at a pace that almost stands still.
We breathe, we dance; we hold an everlasting gaze,
Perfectly formed creatures submerged in daydreams,
What we were is what we never will be.
