Paul Ryan was sniffin' around, helping Mitt give away those bribery sandwiches.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paul Ryan was the pick. He's VERY ambitious and not too bright. I think he may want to jump the line and be the party's candidate in 2016.

Liberals and progressives would be smart to stop focusing SO MUCH on the social issues related to the horrifying prospect of Rick "poke him with a fork" Santorum and start to champion THEIR OWN VISION of economic responsibility.

The Dems have gotten a lot of mileage out of the two Paul Ryan's budgets. Do you think the RNC would want to hand the Dems Ryan on a silver platter.

The GOP is running on Ryan's budget. It represents their vision for America (get rich or die trying). I heard a Joe Walsh / PAC ad ("American's for Prosperity") on the way to work today, telling me to call Congressman Walsh and thank him for voting for the Ryan budget.

Democrats NEED to present their own budget. They need to STAND FOR something, not just against the GOP. They need to get the Blue Dogs to STFU and line up behind a party platform.

Paul "Ayn Rand" Ryan really...in addition to being a Rand acolyte...doesn't he seem young/boyish to be President...I mean not Presidential young like Kennedy...just young immature...

Bob McDonnell would have been a perfect pick until he signed that idiotic "force doctors to rape their patients" law. He's toxic now.

They did present their own budget.

Kirk Cameron is the guy, but the media are easing us in.

I'm another one thinking Paul Ryan. He is the 'Bagger darling right now, and Romney will need a Conservative VP so he can run to the center.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 4, 2012 10:21:25 AM PDT
I mean get out there and TOUT the damn thing. STAND for something as a party. SELL their vision to the American people.

It's like the Democrats are BetaMax and the GOP is VHS. The Dems think its OBVIOUS that they have a better product, and the GOP knows that they can win by doing a better job of selling their inferior one.

Mitt Romney would be a pretty good choice for VP--but then the GOP would have to find a viable candidate for president.

I disagree. He doesn't need to pander to conservatives because they will vote for the GOP candidate, no matter who is the running mate. He'll pick a moderate to woo independents after running wildly to the right in the Primary process. Rob Portman, maybe?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 4, 2012 10:30:06 AM PDT
I disagree with your disagreement (and all your base are belong to us!).

While there's no question that the (magical shrinking) GOP base will pull a lever for every "R" in the booth, Romney will need a conservative to get them to show up to the polls. Sure, the old people will show up and vote their fears, but the religious base may say "meh" to voting at all if Romney's the candidate.

Nah, I love Ryan, but we need him in the House because he will actually be running the show if Romney wins.... and holding back the obama spending disaster if Romney doesn't....

It'll be Rubio.... Hispanic, check.... huge swing state, check.... tea party hero, check.... well spoken conservative, check.... already been attacked by.... and fended off.... the obama mud slinging machine, check....

I don't see the fact that his Roman Catholic family attended a mormon church when he was 11 as being a big deal one way or the other....

McCain said he thinks Romney should pick Palin.

Lol, I guess he really wants Romney to lose. Either that or his Alzheimer's is getting worse.
