Serious fantasies (an oxymoron?) would show us all that both sides of the aisle have love and humor.

Me? One thing I'd love to do is pour some energy and real money into building up a charity that successfully helps homeless people get back on their feet.

1) Build an extension on my house for all the books I would buy.
2) Build an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool and sauna.
3) There's this Martin 002 twelve fret...
4) Establish a charitable foundation to get rid of most of the money.
5) Take mandolin, recorder, Northumbrian pipes and clawhammer banjo lessons
6) Clear the bushes around the pond
7) Set money aside for our retirement
8) Set money aside for our son's retirement and a house
9) Set money aside for our grandkids college

Sad but true. I know exactly what I'd do with a spare 100K but I have no idea what I'd do with an extra 600 million.

I can't really grasp how much 600 million is, so I don't know what I'd do with it either, but I would NEVER grade another research paper.

I wonder how much it would take to make a difference in Darfur. I could fish around the mercenary mags and get plans and estimates. They need some help.

Well, after taxes (which would take about half) and splitting it four ways (an old promise to my husband and children that is impossible to renege on after all these years)...

A Lear jet, a private island... and no way would I let my name be released to the public.

i have plans to give most of it away

but there is really not that much
if you take cash you get about half so make that 320M as of todays estimate
then taxes take almost 50% so you have 160M left
hmmm.....
not looking so big at this point

20% of the 320 (64) to a true church leaves 96
less 60M or so to family and friends leaves 36M
which will barely provide a luxury standard of living for life
very comfortable yes, but dont go overboard and risk being broke later on

20% to a church if i can find one that will tell me what they will do with it that is worth using it for - else give that to the poor i guess

many millions to pay off all family/relatives debts and buy the each a enw car and send them on a nice vacation plus set up a rick-e trust fund for all the kids and grandkids - that might not be as much as i estimated but could be more

fix up our house - less than 1M
toss all the extra stuff we dont need
replace the old stuff with better stuff eg dishes , *matching* cutlery
but that is noise compared to the jackpot not even 1M
if you count two new cars

(if we ever really need somethign we could easily buy it)
so we will see what else we can use the money for that is worthwhile
while guaranteeing enough income for life

certainly invest and save some to ensure a *good* income for life
but there will still be enough left over - but not too much !!

and way too many people trying to take that from us with lies

otter

take it all to vegas and put it on 00
but dont fritter it away betting small amounts
else the house statistical advantage will win out

C. Batty says:
I would take 5 million for spending money, 5 million to bail out friends and family, put 25 million back to live on and put 50 million back for charitable donations. Then I would see how fast I could put it back out into the economy paying off the bills of other people. I would have a computer savvy friend set up a random number generator and let people submit their bills which would be assigned a number. Then every month I would have another program randomly select 10,000 numbers and pay those bills. I would like to see if I could weight the program to favor smaller and poorer communities, but the point is to just get the money out there do it can do god.

lwd

and if you sell it to a foreign company
there are no taxes
so split that difference with them
and their name is the one in the papers
plus you make another 160M or so
