Rab says:
Really? I'll tell you the sick part: The sick part is the fact that millions of Muslim girls around the world have their clitorises cut out every year by their ignorant parents. THAT's sick.

And if you don't care about it, YOU'RE sick.

He's a troll doing it for the lulz. He wants to be "censored" so he can cry about how we won't allow him freedom of speech.

Oh, pretend to care about the girls, now. You care so much, you're posting links to a picture like that. Why is this is the politics forum? Try the religion forum, or a porn site.

You're the idiot. In case you haven't noticed, Amazon discussions are infested with Muslim apologists like Sumurgh, also known as Hikmat.

Their point is that Islam is just like any other religion and should be respected along with Judaism and Christianity.

My opinion is that Islam is a brutal prison which many people are trying to escape.

Simugh and company denigrate people who've gotten out of Islam, claiming that they're simply pandering to the West.

Have you looked at the site, Noyd? Or do you just want to run your mouth? Go ahead; I dare you. Look at the horrors of Islam and then report back to us about the funny comedy about Islam you guys were discussing.

The politics site because fundamental Islam is creeping into the West and will bring its horrific practices with it.

You're right, Dahlia.

Sumurgh drones on relentlessly day after day about Islam as "the religion of peace" -- pretending that it is meritorious when everyone knows it's brutal and repressive.

It's funny though. I've noticed that it isn't the people who blow up little children who are condemned here on Amazon. It's the people who TALK about the people who blow up little children who are condemned.

To read the reaction, you'd think I was the one with the knife. But no, I am the one trying to awaken the West to the horror. Radical Islam is well on its way to taking over Europe. I'd like to see if America has any interest in not going that route.

can we have this discussion at "BRUTALITY?"

Then we can develop a comprehensive list (with videos too, I'm certain) for us all to feel smug about--since we know that we are never at fault for things that are done in our name (and with our tax money).

rab you are the same ilk that puts down and probably swears out human rights groups i belong to... please this post is only to in flame your agenda. you could give a flip of what is going on worldwide.... remember us crazy extreme left people.. the very ones supporting groups with awareness and initiating action.. gimmee a break...

Rab says:
Kilgore,

Why is it that people are so angry at the messenger? (And I don't mean Mohammad.)

People can throw boiling oil in their daughters' faces and cut out their clitorises. But if anyone does anything to try to make people aware of these horrors, THAT person is condemned.

How about condemning the guys with the boiling oil and the knives?

I'm serious !

Can we move this whole thing to BRUTALITY ?

Then there will be a place for castration and decapitation, when they come up.

Rab says:
No, Homebuilding; I'm serious too. This discussion belongs exactly where it is -- in Politics.

The reason is that radical Islam has made great strides in changing the social fabric and political climate in England, France and Spain.

The U.S. is next unless we wake up. This is a wake-up call.

the reason is the fact the u.s. illegal war in iraq was about oil and establishing bases in the middle east.... if they were for human rights in iraq. homosexuals would be more free to live their lives. they were better off with sadam in charge... yes be mad at brutality and hopefully understand the human rights we all share. but to think supporting mccain as i know this is the reason you posted this will not prevent these things from happening...... human right groups through world cooperation rather then u.s. impearlism with raping the natural resources of a country and forgetting about the people(actually making them worse of then when we arrived in some areas) there is a big difference....

Kilgore,

It is extremely cynical of you to question my motives in posting this web site. The reason I posted it is because I care about the human beings who are being brutalized, and I want it to stop.

One of the best ways to stop evil is to shine a light on it and bring public pressure to bear. The anti-slavery movement in America got an enormous boost when Harriet Beecher Stowe published "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

You need to stop equivocating about the horror that Muslim girls around the world are enduring. It doesn't have anything to do with Iraq or the environment. And for you to make that claim is to trivialize the incredible pain inflicted on these girls.

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 21, 2008 4:09:18 PM PDT
Excellent job, Rab. I'm glad you want the abuses to stop. I can't figure out why you chose the Politics forum for this unselfish, totally humanistic and humanitarian effort. I applaud you. Thank God that this cultural aberration will not be tolerated in the USA. Democrats and Republicans are against this. Common ground from you at last.

Rab says:
Dahlia,

The heartbreak of removing a girls clitoris is not only the horrific pain she experiences at the time and the subsequent loss of sensation.

This primitive and brutal procedure sets up the victims for a lifetime of agony from infections and other complications. Often, the simple act of urination becomes horriby painful.

Rab says:
Vain,

Your dripping sarcasm over such a tragic subject won't prevent me from answering, yet again, why this post is in Politics.

It is in Politics because radical Islam has been very successful already at infecting Europe. Britain, France, Spain and other countries are dealing with huge problems brought on by their Muslim populations.

America is next if we don't stop it. Therefore, it IS a political issue, without any doubt.

Rab - Thank you for bringing this utterly barbaric practice to the attention of fellow readers of this discussion board. It's amazing that some are calling you SICK for shedding light on this secretive, ritualistic and barbaric practice that renders women unable to function normally. Bringing awareness to this travesty is the best way to expose it and work at putting an end to it. But it takes generations for such ritualistic practices to be ended.

I always find it interesting that people in the US and other Western countries are so appalled by female genital mutilation, but the same people find circumcision of males perfectly "normal" and acceptable. It was an old Jewish ritual that was imposed on Americans by Jewish-American doctors back in the 50's when our parents were very gullible and easily swayed. My husband and I refused to have our son circumcised as an infant, and he is very glad today - as an adult - to have his penis and foreskin intact. We simply used our common sense to break the chain of follow-the-leader that most of our peers succumbed to. Their reasons for getting their sons circumcised were they "didn't want little "Jimmy's" penis to look different from his dad's", so they had the pediatrician whack off the protective skin around "Jimmy's" penis and let it get weathered and leathery from exposure. So really what is done here in America is no less barbaric than what the Muslims are doing to their females. The only difference is that doctors perform the surgery here on males, whereas an untrained family member does the surgery there on females. BARBARIC!!!

This, in no way, makes it any less appalling that girls in Muslim society are subjected to this torturous and sick procedure. How can we all help to put an end to this practice?

Rab says:
Not that you care, Vain, but here are some statistics on Muslim women who have had their clitorises cut out:

97% of Egytian women (29 million)

98% of Djibouti woman

98% of Somali woman

25% of Mauritanian women

90% of Sudanese women (14.4)
