Funny (or not) how this happened before the election and yet was only reported by the pentagon after the election!!!! I guess this is how Boeing held off on reporting mass layoffs until after the election!!!

Our drone was in int'l air space, so this attack is an act of war!!!! Maybe iran didnt get word that their muslim brother put the evil youtube video maker in jail for 1 year.

Shooting our US jets manned or unmanned is an act of war and needs a military response. Who gave the military the stand down order?!?!?!

dont worry, this is just war mongering, it was a accidental shooting and we need to let it go. just stand behind our grand leader and allow him to do his thing. you know he won a peace prize.

Not entirely surprising considering this happened last year:

The drone encounter comes after a U.S. drone crashed in Iran late last year. Iran claimed to have shot it down, but U.S. officials said it merely malfunctioned and crashed.

So is imposing crippling sanctions and flying spy drones over another nations airspace, and yet we've done both those things to them. Best we start applying the same standards to ourselves that we impose on others.

Why not report that when it happens?

I think that's Vik's issue.

Remember the Maine! Or Remember the Gulf Of Tonkin. I assume you've volunteered to serve our nation in its upcoming war?

Haha, yeah right. Its always those who've never served and will never serve who are most eager to go to war.

Let me get this straight... the right wingers lost and now they're howling for war so they can feel 'tough and manly' again. Does that about sum it up?

this is and act of aggression too shoot down a drone in international air space. this is not war mongering but a literal shot across US.

casto and khaddfi did it to every president after election too test the waters and see what they could get away with. khaddfi tried it with regan and he bombed every house he had and that put him back in his place.

Exactly. This war mongering is getting really old really fast.

(1) Shot down?
(2) Castro? So we showed him by ??? Bay of Pigs?
(3) How many houses did Khaddfi have?
(3a) During whose administration did Khaddfi lose power (and life)?

The US has been flying spy drones over Iran for years. They shot one of ours down (or it crashed, doesn't matter) just last year. This drone was apparently flying on the outskirts of Iranian air space. Had roles been reversed and Iran was flying a spy drone in international air space off the coast of California, I doubt you'd have a problem with the US shooting it to hell. Hippocratic neo con policies.

this is not war mongering but trying to protect american interest. this will fuel others because they will see the US as weak.

it is a cluster and this will grow, just recall this post in about 2 years.

castro - embargos placed on country

khaddffi - had dozens of palaces

regan and adminstration used khaddfi to stablize region and liked him in power for our benefit. but with each new president each of the two would get on tv and speak of the US and test the waters.

khaddfi - " extremist are like dogs and must be taken out to control them ". this is how he was able to maintain power and control for so long. the factions of libya have so many tribal issues dating back hundreds of years, that prevented them from organzing.

Its amazing how much blood we're willing to shed and wealth we're willing to waste just to look tough. This idiotic mindset needs to stop.

I don't blame them after last year's incident, which probably scared the bejeesus out of them. They are probably far more skittish about drones after which, hence shooting at any that come near.

No, we'd do the exact same thing. How is it an act of war for them to do it, but if we did the same thing it would be self defense?

Got it. Well we were fine with Castro stuck on his rock with 1950's technology and we were fine with Khaddafi being a wingnut for decades. We'll be figure out how to handle Iran in due time too.
