RE: I don't think too many here are actually in "politics", do you?

In spite of all the charges of some folks being paid for this or that, no, I doubt it. For one thing, the more zealous people here are, the less convincing and less effective they are. Lots and lots of hacks, more likely. Stirring up a forum doesn't mean changing anyone's mind.

I'm just thinking that percentagewise there may be a few who've been long out of it but maybe once worked on a campaign or somethng.....just some connection. I doubt anyone here's worked professionally at it.

TeaBaggerVik says: "Personally, I think military experience should be a requirement for the prez."

As that would not have excluded George W. Bush, the biggest moron to ever step foot in the White House, one has to wonder if military experience is a good measure of a person.

It would also exclude a lot of very qualified women who simply because of the times in which they they might have been able to serve, women did not play that large of a role in the military and many women of presidential age do not have any military experience whatsoever.

And it would not exclude the little milquetoast, Mittens. He cried to get his four deferments so he could vacation in Paris while the poor people died for him.

You are certainly correct about political madness...it will be interesting to see how the next few months unfold...and the reaction here.
I don't think too many here are actually in "politics", do you?

I'm a curious person in general, so yeah, in a sense....just to satisfy curiosity. But more so in other forums than here, and more so if I were meeting them in real life than here.

But since this is politics and it's contentious and a bit crazy by its nature, I'd rather keep things as they are and just go by what people post. I trust my intuition as to who knows what they're talking about. I'm sure I'm wrong from time to time, but knowing what they did for a living wouldn't make much difference. An exception to that might be that I'd want to know who among forum members actually worked in politics on some level, and what that level might be.

"We've got HUGE economic issues in this nation that need to be dealt with. I could care less what Romney did 40 years ago about the draft. Big deal. So what. "

Agreed, last President we had who fought in a war was HW Bush 1989 - 1993.

Barry Obama won't even bring up Mitt's service record. It's the liberal media controlling their sheep.

This "Who served in Vietnam?" argument is way past its prime. Now, we have a volunteer army so nobody can complain about our soldiers being sent anywhere since, after all, the VOLUNTEERED to fight, right?!

We've got HUGE economic issues in this nation that need to be dealt with. I could care less what Romney did 40 years ago about the draft. Big deal. So what.

When people make this an issue? It means they wouldn't vote for him anyway. The sad truth about who we vote for these days is based more on the absurd promises they cannot or will not keep.

"You can by putting your country ahead of your mythical beliefs. Now we have to wonder, if it comes to country vs church, will he do the American thing or the Mormon thing?"

You liberals are sorely mistaken if you think Barry Obama is going to win a biblical war against Mitt Romney.

A Mormon Christian thing would be much better then the "Black Liberation ( I hate America) Theology" religion that Barry Obama worships too with Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Barry Obama will not mutter the word "Mormon". I guarantee you that, it's part of the liberal medias scorched earth campaign, to get this liberal loser reelected.

Barry Obama has done nothing good for Americans and if he had I would acknowledge it.

"Why are you so jealous of the Earned Income Tax credit?"

Bom Boom Bottom,

I have kids.

Even Bill Clinton lowered all business taxes, raised the marginal rates & cut spending from 23.5% of GDP down to 19.5% of GDP.

Barry Obama has increased spending 28% & America now has the highest Business taxes in the world.

You cant borrow, tax & government spend your way to prosperity, unless of course, your on the receiving end of the billions of dollars of crony stimulus.

What part of his life did he give up? Since all Mormon men expect to go to a foreign country, leaving America was part of his life. France doesn't seem all that hard to me. Don't Americans go there for vacation? How many French Catholics did he convert do you suppose? Perhaps he should have gone to vietnam as a Mormon missionary instead.
