I am not living in "hell". I am living in a well-ordered society with a lot of personal freedom, rule of law, high standard of living, etc. If it's "hell" here, why are so many people trying to come here from other countries?

Agree that if things deteriorate drastically, and if it's clear that it's because of too much government intervention, then I will of course have a different viewpoint. But those are two big "ifs".

What "gang with guns" are you referring to? I can't remember being ordered around and expropriated by anyone with a gun, other than police officers in the lawful performance of their reasonable duties, like stopping me for speeding.

I'm too old to enlist. (Not that I would do it if I were younger.)

What "police state" are you referring to? Airport security check-ins?

France, Spain, and Great Britain had empires, and they managed to survive.

Yes, I really suffer because of that.

Everyone knows that pasteurization is a government plot, just like fluoridation of the water.

You mean when I believe I'm free is exactly when I'm enslaved? How diabolically clever of these tyrants to arrange things so I can be free! I fell right into their trap!

Oh yes, vaccines are another government plot. Forgive me for not mentioning that.

You know what else is a government plot? The lines on streets and highways.

Well, then I can point to at least one objective piece of evidence indicating that I am smarter than you.

I don't own. Owning is for LOSERS!

I used to. I paid property taxes only because I knew I would be punished if I didn't, but I also had to admit to myself that I received services in return, which took a little of the sting out of it.

I pay income taxes for the same reason, and try to make myself feel less bad about it in the same way.

Uh, yes it's the point. It's what really is happening that defines reality, not what someone imagines is happening or could happen.

Is there any one in the field of economics that gets talked about more for doing less than Marx? None of this theories are in use today. They only exist in academia and in the minds of savants who think that the world really cares.

What terrible thing really happened that justifies intense paranoia about living under a tyranny?
