I'm sure it's just a coincidence. : )

The GOP just lost the election badly by failing to appeal to woman and minority groups. Putting white men in charge of all comittees just seems to be saying we do not care.

Tone deaf doesn't begin to describe the House Republicans.

They lost seats this year because of their chronically constipated ideology.

Keep it up, soon-to-be-extinct, reptiles.

If you eliminate all the white men from the GOP caucus there aren't many other people left to appoint. Michelle Bachmann maybe...Why can't she get a committee spot?

Roger says:
If there were women and minorities better qualified to head those committees and were rejected in this particular case because of their race & gender with sources backing them up, then I will agree 100% that the GOP cares little about appealing to them, hence proving racism and sexism as a factor.

I'm not claiming there is none of that going on in the GOP, I am referring specifically to the House appointing these select 19 men only.

Its government. A main qualification is representing America. If the GOP thinks they can do it with an all white male leadership I will continue to mock them.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 27, 2012 8:37:37 PM PST
They will do it any way they want. That's what you get to do when you have a majority in Congress.

Of course. And it really is just amusing to watch there march to try to lose it against everything else for them.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 27, 2012 8:43:26 PM PST
Wouldn't they have to elect somebody besides white men to do differently?

Good point.

Is there not a single qualified Republican woman or African-American in the whole House?

I'm not as concerned about their eye color as I am the darkness of their hearts.

And their skin color, of course.

She has two:

She's a member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (make your own joke) and the Financial Services Committee.

Maybe she's there so the other congressmen/women will feel better about their intelligence.

That's why I come here.....

It's just amazing to me that, after losing seats in the House, GOP state majorities are still pushing abortion bans, and the ideological Einsteins in the House insist on tightening the political nooses around their own necks.

They should check out Rush's oxy-induced cochlear implant to treat their suicidal tone-deafness.

I hope they put some more religious fundamentalists in charge of science committees. No one is more suited to a science position than someone who believes the Earth is 6,000 years old and laughs at the thought that our "grandparents were monkeys".

They couldn't find a suitable chairmanship for Virginia Foxx? She's on the cutting edge of women's issues for the GOP.

Ice King says:
Cutting edge of women's issues for the GOP? So you mean she's in favor of giving women the right to vote?
