Well, we've been telling you so for years:

"Forget global warming - it's Cycle 25 we need to worry about (and if NASA scientists are right the Thames will be freezing over again)Met Office releases new figures which show no warming in 15 years"

Why yes! The UK's Global Warming Office says New Temperature Data shows No Warming in the Past 15 Years!

According to David Rose, "the Met office releases figures which show no warming in 15 years."

That doesn't sound quite right. I wonder what the Met office has to say about it? Here are some excerpts of their response to Rose's column in their news blog:

"This article includes numerous errors in the reporting of published peer reviewed science undertaken by the Met Office Hadley Centre and for Mr. Rose to suggest that the latest global temperatures available show no warming in the last 15 years is entirely misleading.

"Despite the Met Office having spoken to David Rose ahead of the publication of the story, he has chosen to not fully include the answers we gave him to questions around decadal projections produced by the Met Office or his belief that we have seen no warming since 1997. . . ."

A spokesman for the Met office is then quoted as saying that "what is absolutely clear is that we have continued to see a trend of warming, with the decade of 2000-2009 being clearly the warmest in the instrumental record going back to 1850. Depending on which temperature records you use, 2010 was the warmest year on record for NOAA NCDC and NASA GISS, and the second warmest on record in HadCRUT3."

Here is an analysis of the exact sort of nonsense David Rose is peddling, and exactly how he massaged the data:
http://bbickmore.wordpress.com/2012/01/29/the-daily-mail-prints-climate-nonsense/

It's almost as if David Rose were TRYING to fit the data into a preconceived anti-global-warming agenda.

Ooops:

"Perhaps the most inconvenient fact is the lack of global warming for well over 10 years now. This is known to the warming establishment, as one can see from the 2009 "Climategate" email of climate scientist Kevin Trenberth: "The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can't." But the warming is only missing if one believes computer models where so-called feedbacks involving water vapor and clouds greatly amplify the small effect of CO2.

The lack of warming for more than a decade-indeed, the smaller-than-predicted warming over the 22 years since the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) began issuing projections-suggests that computer models have greatly exaggerated how much warming additional CO2 can cause. Faced with this embarrassment, those promoting alarm have shifted their drumbeat from warming to weather extremes, to enable anything unusual that happens in our chaotic climate to be ascribed to CO2."

Voice of god says:
"It's almost as if David Rose were TRYING to fit the data into a preconceived anti-global-warming agenda."

That's impossible. Only the pro-global-warming fascists use "preconceptual" science, which is totally a word that exists.

You might want to check that URL there, sport. That's an opinion piece. If you'd like a fact piece instead, I could suggest several:

http://www.skepticalscience.com/global-warming-stopped-in-1998-basic.htm

Notice that these are science websites, and not op-ed pieces from the Wall Street Journal. Give them a try!

In my part of the country, this month (January,2012), has been the warmest on record. During the daytime we have not fallen below 47 degrees. It's 62 right now and may hit 70 by Thursday....Yes, I believe in Global warming.

I have the strong feeling that Who Dat couldn't write down the equation of radiative transfer if his life depended on it. I love when science illiterates mobilize to tell scientists how wrong they are.

"That's an opinion piece. If you'd like a fact piece instead, I could suggest several:"

When you put something in quotations, that means that someone said it. The climate scientist was quoted, he said it in an email, that is not opinion. And the fact is that there is no consensus among climate scientists, the fact is that there hasn't been an increase in warming. That is a fact and that is why there was something called 'climategate' (and I have posted many, many science websites here that disproves global warming, I don't recognize your name, you must be new here). I know you Socialists and environmentalist wackos are upset about that and are in denial and the bad news is that cooling is much much worse than warming, so keep on praying for some global warming, maybe God will hear you and the world might avoid the massive famine that a mini ice age would produce.

Well, doesn't that just settle it then? LOL
How do you account for the parts of the world that has been the coldest on record? Oh! Let me guess...GLOBAL WARMING!!!

"I love when science illiterates mobilize to tell scientists how wrong they are. "

What a moron. There are enough climate scientists that have shown that global warming is questionable at best, a hoax and a scam at worst. And I am not a 'he'.

In a similar FWIW department.

Coastline properties...should be safe from rising sea waters given
Record low temperatures this winter
On land masses where there is ice
All year long

My sense is you are missing out on a great opportunity in THIS real estate market and (at least what the data suggests as) SAFETY in your investment.

Who: the fact is that there is no consensus among climate scientists, the fact is that there hasn't been an increase in warming.

BPL: The fact is that you don't know what you're talking about. Both statements above are dead wrong.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 31, 2012 3:51:49 AM PST
who: There are enough climate scientists that have shown that global warming is questionable at best

BPL: Nope. Not even close.

who: a hoax and a scam at worst.

BPL: See, this is what pisses me off about people like you. I am a physicist researching global warming. When someone I've never met comes along and tells me I'm a fraud and a hoaxer, I naturally want to kick their ignorant butt.

Who: And I am not a 'he'.

BPL: You're not even a grown-up, if your posts are any evidence.
