So that we can better communicate upcoming changes and answer customer questions about our forums, we created the Amazon Discussion Feedback Forum:

https://www.amazon.com/forum/amazon%20discussions%20feedback

The forum is designed to give customers a space to leave feedback about what they like and dislike about Amazon's discussion boards (neutral comments are also appreciated!). Moving forward, we will also use the forum to announce changes in our guidelines/features so that customers are not caught by surprise.

If you have not already checked it out, be sure to stop by. We would love to hear from you.

-The Amazon Communities Team

I, for one, would like to see everyone - including the Amazon Communities Team - get away from using the word "hate". That's the type of wording that gets people riled up in the Forums, and is totally unnecessary, especially from you. How about:

"The forum is designed to give customers a space to leave feedback about what they like and dislike about Amazon's discussion boards....."

edit: Thank you, ACT.

Amazon Team,

Excellent organization. I have seen other forums, it is by far the best.

What happened to the "Amazon Friends?" We used to be able to let selected people have access to our emails, for example. I would like to see that returned.

I'd like to see the voting disappear. No one votes according to the value of the post.

Nobody hates it when I do it!

That's an urban legend started by jealous women that were mad at me for not showing them how to grind an ax. Period!

Axiomatic!!! says:
Me too. I'd like them to bring back the "My Communities" feature also. As much as I hate to agree with Mish, I'd like the "friends" section back too.

Amazon Community Team, now that your thread has been hijacked by the usual suspects, maybe you can figure out a cure for that problem.

Axiomatic!!! says:
It's not hijacked. I'm laying claim to it, under International Maritime Salvage Laws.

If Ammy has a problem with my claim, then let them speak! Otherwise, it's abandoned under the aforementioned laws.

Edit: If you don't believe me, please contact my personal attorney and bartender, Mr. Len.

Please eliminate the entire politics forum, it serves no worthwhile purpose.

Amazon has graciously asked us our opinions and feedback in order to improve this free service to us.

I hope we can avoid the chat with one another - that can be done on other threads - and address the Amazon staff so that they do not have to sort through non-related posts.

Let's provide thoughtful feedback to make it a better place for all of us.

Tomcat™ says:
Uh.....Kapitan. This is an "Announcement" thread. See where it says that at the top? It's not really "their" thread because they were done with it the instant they pressed "Post". So, it can't very well have been hijacked, can it? If this is too complex for you, don't worry about it. I would salute if I knew how.....
