"improvements in immigration stats"

due to obamunism's utter failure

Rats are leaving the sinking ship and you think we should cheer?

When Romney gets the economy turned around, illegals will return. But the fence will be going up so they won't find getting back in as easy as it was before.

Romney predicted in January that self-deportation was going to kick in and he was right.

Another case of Romney being for an Obama reality before obama was for it.

Actually Obama has been deporting as many if not more than Bush.

Yes he has. Do you know that Obama since Obama has taken office more domestic oil has been taken out of the ground than during the entire 8 years that Bush was in office. Socialist. Commie. These are code words for a term that 20 years ago was known as "right of center."

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 24, 2012 9:33:57 PM PDT
No worries. Republicans will manage to bring them back by removing the minimum wage requirement. When businesses start hiring people for 2 bucks an hour, Mexicans will march right back in to take those jobs since no one else would.

Under Obama illegal immigration is decreasing? Instead of celebrating this, something conservatives claim to desire, they are belly aching? Can't help but think of the epic hissy fit when Obama took out Osama. Their hatred of Obama apparently trumps any other sentiment or even basic common sense...

utter Bull. you know you can't support that blatant lie, blatant LIAR.

drilling on lands where the obamunists have control is WAY down. drilling on PRIVATE land, that obama is unable to suppress, is up.

Emrich,

More oil has been taken out of private lands, much less on federal.

News from the border:

From our local paper yesterday:

"The Mexican cartels are taking over, actually being like the Border Patrol on this (Mexico) side. They threaten them. 'If you don't pay, what we're going to do is cut your head off. That's the worst part." Recent illegal entrant. Now our poor economy and thinly spread BP agents have help in stopping illegal entry and the cartels will succeed where we haven't.

This particular illegal has been deported multiple times (and each time counts as a deportation of an illegal although it involves only oner person). He is now in a detention facility near Las Vegas.

There are many factors involved in this and reading numbers with no frame of reference doesn't really mean much. Were 200 actual people deported last week, or was it 50 people deported 4 times that week? Makes a difference.

M. Emrich says:
Brian- When it comes to oil, the comparison number that the right likes to use is new leases on Federal lands. It is true they are down under Obama. However; 80% of the leases in existence are not in use, don't you think that the demand for new leases would thus be down?
Here are some facts- new permits to drill on Federal Lands are way up. Overall production is way up. As I mentioned , 80% of the leases on Federal land are currently not in use. But when the lease holder decides it is economically viable to file a permit to activate that lease, this administration has zero problem doing so. Active rigs in the US are four fold what they were under Bush. There are about a dozen ways to measure this whole stat of oil. Personally I think the best way to measure it is how much of the black gold is being pulled out of the ground domestically. You want to selectively choose what is arguably the least significant stat to measure domestic production go right ahead. It is a really dumb way to look at the issue, but at least it would be consistent with the way you look at basically every other issue.

The "new" permits are not all new. Most are reissued leases from before BP.

M. Emrich says:
True. Leases are down. Lets button down the difference between a lease and a permit here. Leases are created and an investment is made to secure the Federal or Private land. When the market gets to a point that it makes sense to drill then a permit is requested. Improvements in Technology, decreases in Government regulations and a rise in the price of oil would I believe be the three most important factors in having a leaseholder decide to activate their lease by applying for a permit to drill. Sure the majority of permits being activated are probably from leases that were approved prior to Obama being President. That is no reflection on this administrations policies. If permits were down in this climate where close to 80% of leases are dormant, you would have a viable argument that Obama is anti oil. They aren't and you don't.

E.T. says:
You're not being truthful. Permits are WAY down unless you consider the old ones that had to be reissued. Production is up on state and private lands, down on federal. Oil imports are down because the economy is so bad.
