The Senate GOP today filibustered the 2010 DISCLOSE Act, which called for disclosing the names of donors of $10K and more. So much for "transparency."

The GOP doesn't give a rat's patootie about Americans except their plutocratic overlords.

More Republican hypocrisy. They used to be for the Disclosure Act, before the Citizen's United big bucks started flowing in.

or maybe, the gop doesn't want true transparency as they claim. what a bunch of smoke and mirrors and people such as you fall into the web of deceit. is your white nationalist pride getting in the way of common sense?

If transparency is the aim, why exempt unions?

>> maybe if they hadn't exempted unions,

False:

"Senate Republicans block campaign disclosure bill"

"The centerpiece of the legislation would force tax-exempt "501(c)" groups, WHICH INCLUDES LABOR UNIONS and chambers of commerce, to publicly report any donor giving $10,000 or more to the Federal Election Commission."

How were unions exempt?

As you see Brian was wrong on his statement.

:-) that makes four repetitions of the lie vs. three repetitions of the facts. We still owe them one more.

Can It Be All So Simple

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 17, 2012 9:47:52 AM PDT
Mitch McConnell said the Senate GOP opposed the DISCLOSE Act because identifying who's engaging free speech would inhibit free speech. He didn't believe a word of it, natch, but he said it anyway. That's pour Mitch!

This was a vote to preserve the equivalent of "secret Swiss bank accounts" on behalf of plutocrats who want to pick this country's elected officials.

Total and utter BS.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 17, 2012 10:10:38 AM PDT
Yeah really? Care to back up that statement because the simple fact of the bill is that labor unions would be subject to disclosure under this bill.

It's amazing, how they keep coming at us in waves, spouting the same talking-point lies.

Then they accuse us of parroting Left Wing talking points.

What are you hoping to accomplish when you post stuff that is completely untrue?
