Obviously the only solutions liberals support involve taking away guns from those who didn't do it. Any other suggestions need not apply.

Brazen political opportunism using the bodies of children.

OK libs, if you've got other ideas other than restricting gun ownership, here's your chance to submit them.

There is no solution.

so even after you've posted this thread (and others exactly like it) numerous times and have been told by numerous liberals that this is not what we want, you insist upon spamming the boards with this drivel anyway?

But it clearly IS what they want, despite their denials.

Yes, if you lack reading comprehension skills or you just don't feel like having the argument that we're having, you're right. We just wanna take away your guns.

Americans already own 300 million guns, some restrctions on the sale of new guns won't change anything.

Ahh the "slippery slope" argument. Banning assault riffles and extended ammo clips does not mean they want to take your guns away. I suppose you think legalizing gay marriage will lead to sex with animals.

So we're waiting on pins and needles to hear your suggestions.

Mende Mui says:
A neighbor basically shot himself in the leg, and almost bled to death a few weeks back; he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder from the first Iraq war but owns about 26 semi-automatic high powered riffles. He sleeps with them on the ground because he is scared of sleeping in bed...

He is obviously very mentally stable to own that many riffles!

Ahem. You nitwits are proving my point, needlessly. Nothing else to offer but gun confiscation.

Gosh, it's almost as if you are using a tragedy to advance your political agenda.

The "discussion" on MSNBC is staged. It's insulting to listen to their talking points. Maybe that's what they want? It's their way of saying sorry, we don't know what to do?

And your suggestion is....? Let me guess arm everyone whether they know how to handle a firearm or not!??!?!

I suggested putting heat on therapists to divulge patients' desires to commit violence. The liberals here shot it down. They would rather just take away guns. One guy in particular really freaked out about this idea. I have a feeling he might be a therapist and anything that involves him personally isn't worth saving the lives of innocents. Isn't that always the way with liberals?

- I think u are proving our point; America is one of the safest nations on Earth; I have no problem with people owning hunting riffles but there should be a form of regulation on assault riffles. I don't care what explanation people have, they should try to understand that it's not going to be like this anymore. The discussion is obviously already in motion so it doesn't matter any ways!

Sheila (NJ) says:
I'd be worried about having therapists divulge too much. Why would anybody seek help if they knew that they were going to get a knock on the door from the police afterwards?

Oh, BTW, I've been a Republican since day one and the last thing I'd want is for only the government to have the guns so I'm pretty sure you can't call me a liberal.

J. P. Herr says:
That might work. Anyone who demands the right to possess assault rifles and thinks guns protect them is certifiable insane!!

The government has nuclear weapons and jets with biological weapons in ready-to-lunch missiles... If citizens in the U.S. are trying to out-do or even match the U.S government, they are doing a very poor job in doing so. There efforts however usually leads to the death of other citizens.

Obviously, "worried about the world" has not been paying attention.

worried about the world,
Obviously you do not know the meaning of the word obviously. Many of us "liberals" own guns and hunt. There is not one single solution to our societal problems, it will take coming at it from several directions.

Joe Anthony says:
If it was up to me I'd take all guns away. I hate those things. I'd just assume not even look at them; let alone learn how to use one.

It's not just gun laws, but the stupid gun culture; the "gun enthusiasts" trying to play Billy or Betty Badass with their guns. The love they have for these machines which were designed to kill other human beings is sick. To me people who buy and use guns and teach their children how to use them ought to placed in the same category as people who use hard-core porn. It's gross and disgusting, and they should be embarrassed and stigmatized for admitting to anyone that the "love guns".

The fact here; is that the mother of the Newtown shooter was one of those "gun enthusiasts" a.k.a. "gun nuts"; she took her son to gun ranges; she trained her son how to use those stupid things and provided him access to them.

I don't want nothing to do with those things. A person has more of a chance of killing himself or herself with a gun than he has of being killed by a home invader.

There is no one solution to these mass killings, but guns are a big part of it; it's these assault weapons that people need like they need a hole in the head...which they might just get, as recent events would indicate.

I'm a liberal but a conservative one. By your posts I did think you were a liberal. If you say you're a Republican then you're a liberal one (if you're honest about it). Or maybe you just need yes votes.

John M. Lane says:
There are some reports that she took her son, the school shooter, to gun ranges and taught him to shoot, Joe Anthony. There are other reports that nobody ever saw them shooting on any of the rifle ranges around Newtown. There is also a report that mom was a "prepper." That doesn't make her crazy any more than owning firearms does.

It just means that believed it was a good idea to be ready to survive a catastrophe. She had the financial resources to live in a million dollar house without having to work. That didn't make her crazy either.

Even if you were in charge, Joe, you couldn't "take all guns away." Our state (Montana) would annul such an attempt and police authority under the Constitution is vested in the states, not the federal government. All the police and military are sworn to uphold that Constitution, so they wouldn't help you either.

You'd be a real busy guy and you'd end up in trouble if you came to this state and tried taking people's guns away.

Yeah, we can't have that. Saving lives pales in comparison.

Or maybe you're being sarcastically ironic? That post was either incredibly clever or incredibly stupid.
