After almost 3 years it looks like Obama is a failure as president of the US.

Why is the American public so easily diverted from real issues to demonizing the messenger? It's not Obama's fault that the GOP-dominatedCongress is determined to take him out rather than act to help the country. It's not Obama's fault that GOP-dominated lobbyists have bought perks for the rich and foreclosures for the rest of us. Nor is it the President's fault that under-regulated Wall Street was able to destroy the economy for the sake of a few rich people at the top. He saved us from going over the cliff in 2008-2009. Now he's trying to bring us jobs, and all we do is complain that he's a failure. The real failure is the do-nothing Congress elected by the Tea Party (incidentally the Tea Party was funded by a couple of billionaires).

Please remember,if our economy improves,if unemployment drops,President Obama WILL be reelected. Therefore,it is in the interest of the GOP to make sure that things do not improve until they have taken the presidency.Brutal, but politically true.

The Artist says:
The Republicans care more about setting up one of their candidates to win the election in 2012 than they do about the state of the country now. That's the problem!

blueskies says:
The Repubs are more interested in firing one man than ensuring thousands of Americans have jobs to go to. Polls show that most Americans supported the Jobs Bill but then, our elected representatives don't listen to us.

Obama is way over his head. If families spent money the way he has, we would all be bankrupt.

LOL Nothing to do with him being Black is it?

We have a red headed female as a Labor Prime Minister and she makes blondes seem smart!

Would swap her for Obama any day!

Barbara Gardner,
where have you been living the last couple of years? Flip your story 180 degrees and then you will see some truth. Obama has not done a single good thing for our country.

A. Heffenan says:
People so quickly forget who got us into this mess in the first place and many are ready to elect the same group of greedy coporatists to do it to us again except this time te
He middle class is not strong enough to take it. Don't they understand that the middle class is responsible for 2/3 of the economy and if they destroy us they destroy themselves? They are not content with the harm they have done to us. Now they want to destroy our public land and make it uninhabitable. Please think people. do not let them have another chance to destroy us and our country.

M. Gaudet says:
Most ineffective President in the office since Carter for a Democrat.

If you want to compare him to other failures look no further than Republican W Bush.

Clinton you are right he must have been a Republican like the Bushes since he had a hand in the mess we are in at least according to a PBS documentary which will probably never air again.

Terri Harvey says:
BUSH HAS BEEN GONE FOR YEARS! OBAMA IS A TWO FACED LYING, NON AMERICAN. He lied about his religion, his birth, how the money for bailout was spent. His flagrant spending an massive vacations with entourages of hundred of people to India, Spain, etc. is OBSENE use of office. His arrogance is only exceeded by his wife's spending to have 22 personal assistants. He personifies corruption with his Czar staff. NO transparency in this government, coverups with gun running to try to make gun owner look bad. It is so sad he had to be the first black president, and is such a failure. Harold Cain is a genius so I still have hope. The debit will be there for years, and Obama want to make it worse.

Lessfatman says:
Obama got Osama Bin Laden killed.
He also saved the GM.
Little details. People say he falsified his birth certificate when he was born.
That he is a not Really Black American because he succeeded.
That he is really a Muslim because he has such a funny name.
I have seen in France the Left attack Sarkozy with similar flaming and mud-throwing as Obama receives from the Right in the US.
In media anything is legal, they make the law and worse still, the justice.
From where I am looking, Obama is OK but in politics it does not count. You have to get the votes and that game is so dirty that anyone who gets them will be so bad he'll screw you in all the orifices you have.

I think he's betrayed his liberal base far too often, and now he's getting to see his base in the streets in rage against Wall Street. Which, come to think of it, is a fair and legitimate target for their rage. He didn't do anything he promised to do, and sided with the Republicans ten times out of ten, no matter what. And he's surprised his base refuses to believe him anymore?

But it is his fault that he hasn't fought back, and it is his fault that he's refused to do anything to put people back work. Or to reign in Wall Street.

John Kinzer says:
This sad truth demands that we hold our elected officials to a higher standard than their current performance demonstrates. We now need to return the voice to the people by outlawing all lobbying other than avenues that enable voters to communicate with their elected representatives. This is the only way we will begin to break down the tired political posturing from both sides. Make no mistake, I am a person well left of center. However, I am very tired of spineless Democrats, almost as sick as I am about Republicans who simply don't understand that without demand, no business that actually produces something useful will increase production and create jobs. The only way this dream will work is if we all stand together to break down both the Democratic and Republican parties. Alas, in the end, as the Supreme Court has already ruled, it takes money to have a voice. George Washington must be spinning in his grave.

The issues are far more complex than this kind of simple-minded statement.

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 16, 2011 9:17:12 AM PDT
You are so right on!
Let's stop looking for a safe goat for Obama and judge him based on his performance. Nothing to do with the Republicans. The fight isn't between Democrats and Republicans it is between Obama and us.
Please do not re-elect this guy.......

Oh please. The Democrats were the controlling majority party through almost all of the Bush years so stop blaming the GOP for all of our problems today. Also, remember that Obama was in Congress voting for most of the crap that Bush gets blamed for.
