Here are my 5 nominees for ultimate music boredom:

1. Simple Minds - the name fits, just boring noise
2. Genesis - godawful, I walked out of a concert in the 70s
3. Huey Lewis & the News - Upbeat elevator noise
4. Hall & Oates - Plain silly, not only the "lyrics"
5. Midnight Oil - Too much water in the diesel

it's a matter of taste, not saying you don't have any, just saying yours is different than a lot of peoples including mine

was my response deleted somehow? I said I agree with Stefan, especially Genesis & Huey Lewis - yucky.

Faith No More - they must not have "it", they ask "What is it?"

What is "it"? Soul? talent? heart? I vote Metallica, Black Eyed Peas, Limp Bizkit, The Doors, Godsmack,

Gabriel era Genesis had it all.

I find plenty of it in the Who, Yes, early Geneis and enough it to be worthwhile in early Dire Straits. Other than that, list of it-lackers is pretty darn good.

Of those you listed I like Hall and Oates the most. I don't own any of their albums but I like them when I hear them. Good pop music!

I also liked what I heard from Simple Minds but never heard a lot of their music. Only what I heard on VH1/MTV in the 80s.

I only know one Midnight Oil song "Beds Are Burning" and I like it. I think that's the only one I've ever heard.

I liked one Huey Lewis song...."Bad Is Bad". The rest I usually turn off. Other than that one song, they were boring!

I can stand to listen to Genesis on the radio but never liked them enough buy any albums.

Oh why not? Here ya go . . .
1. Michael McDonald: Maybe I'd like him if I could understand what he's singing from the off, but I'm doubtful.
2. Johnny Hates Jazz: "Shattered Dreams" is playing in Purgatory's waiting room (or is that a bit redundant?)
3. The Blow Monkeys: I don't "Dig [Their] Scene." OR Sometimes a name says it all.
4. Pet Shop Boys: Two fine moments in "Opportunities" and "Suburbia." Otherwise, too repetitive. Thank you. Goodnight.
5. Norah Jones: If it already sounds like SHE'S yawning in tune, how much chance do those listening stand?
And in the "Artists Too Numerous To List" category:
The entire late nineties/early noughties genre of (c)rap metal, which sort of explains the punishment dealt out in the form of the teen pop tarts these last twelve years into the twenty-first century.

Korn, Limp Bizkit, Insane Clown Posse. Looking at the names, it sounds like the ingredients of a birthday party for a kid whose parents hate him.

5 bands that don't have it

3 Doors Down
Any band from the 2000's that tried to make a living for themselves making the music they did. Sadly, people bought into it.
