Where are the new acrostics puzzle books? Random House has discontinued Michael Ashely's Crostics series, with vol. 9. There has been no new collection from Will Schortz (NY Times series) after vol. 10 (w. Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon), 2005. I can't find new Charles Duerr puzzles after vol. 25. Has the industry decided to discontinue this puzzle form? Am I the only one upset by this development?

I heartily agree! I have added Sudoku to my spare-time amusement, but it cannot come near to replacing acrostics puzzles, by definition! Please, please, publishers, surely there is room for more than one kind of puzzle on the shelves! (Oh, all right, technically there *is* more than just Sudoku available, but Word Search and crosswords apparently appeal to whole different groups since they're still available, but acrostics have disappeared. Sob.)

I am the publisher of Game Day, an imprint of Flying Pen Press. We publish game books and books about games, and because we are a fairly new publishing company, we are looking for good puzzle books. If there are puzzlers out there that want to publish any collections of acrostics, this would be perfect for us.

Hello David:

My name is Charles Ashbacher and I am the co-editor of Journal of Recreational Mathematics and the editor of the book review column. I am certainly interested in reviewing puzzle books in JRM.

I realize that this is sort of late, but:

Are you still in business. Do you currently have collections of acrostics for sale? Are you still looking for someone to supply acrostics?
