The group that made the anti-Islam video that provoked the Libyan embassy incident also made an anti-Mormon site.

Mitt Romney said they had the right to say what they said about Islam. He may find himself in the position of defending an anti-Mormon site.

That's a very interesting site, and I don't find that it bashes, just presents the differences between Mormonism and mainstream Christianity.

Isn't it wonderful that the LDS turn the cheek. Vrs what the Islam folks do when they are offended.

The Book of Mormon play. LDS response: You've seen the Movie, now read the book!

I think you mean, "You've seen the musical, read the book-- it's better!"

Yes, I think that is more correct.

How much money do I have to pay into Scientology, errr, Mormonism to be declared a God of an alternate universe?

So, what does Mitt Romney actually believe, and what makes you think you're ever going to find out what any politician or Presidential candidate actually believes?

These guys DO want to get elected, after all. ;-)

Well, he claims that he believes that. I suppose we have to take him at his word.

Frankly, out of all the weird religions that could have been bad sci fi, Mormonism is like #2 on the list, right after Scientology.

Spinoza says:

I'd agree, but the other religions are not far behind in that respect. Why is the narrative of Genesis, written by God, any more or less reasonable than the narrative of Xenu, written by L. Ron Hubbard?

And just as I don't believe L. Ron Hubbard believed in any of the crap he wrote, I doubt very much Mitt Romney sincerely believes in Mormonism. Sorry to be so cynical, but that's what I think.

I think Mitt Romney believes in money and power.

At least, I hope I'm right. Because if I'm not, then someone who may become the next President of the United States appears to believe in a lot of weird sh*t that makes me uncomfortable with him as the leader of the free world and one of the most powerful and influential men on Earth.

I really, truly, sincerely hope he doesn't believe in all this stuff. The opposite is too frightening to contemplate.

I think Mitt Romney believes in whatever he feels it is in his self-interest to believe, like most politicians. And frankly, I couldn't care less about his religious beliefs, as I expect him, as the President of the United States, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, not Mormonism.

So, what do you consider weird? Give me one point, maybe it's nothing more than a lie (as all the weird stuff turns out being) and I can ease your worries.

Mitt Romney believes in giving and providing service.

The LDS believe the Constitution was Godly inspired, in order to provide an environment conducive of God restoring his church once again to the earth. There is no other church that believes as strongly in the divine origin of the Constitution as do the LDS. Far as I am concern, defending the Constitution is the same thing as defend the LDS.

The least Mitt could do is make it easy on his staff; now they'll be up all night spinning his inane comments about being Latino and "victims". Mitt is so white-bread! Being Mormon is the least of his problems.

I chased some Mormon missionaries off my property while spraying a fire extinguisher at them, once.

Am I going to Hell?

Well, you could go to prison.

You really sound like a tremendously imature person.

How can you spray a fire extinguisher at someone and run at the same time? Impossible; you're being silly.

I have no idea the true intentions and desires of your heart.
It's between you and the Lord.

I do know that knowing his gospel here and now and acting positively upon it can richly bless you more than you realize.
