And Who Gets Top Honors for Being Troll of the Year for 2012?

The troll should be elected as such for being contrary, for generally using rationalized thought, for possibly being mentally ill, and for needing lots of raw meat. The person's mother was probably mentally abusive. Also, we cannot see the person, but the person probably has warts on his or her head (maybe not, but voters can imagine disfigurement). It would not hurt if the person believed in God.

(I only have one wart on my nose and one wart above my left eye, so please do not vote for me.)

Ah, so many trolls; so little time:

Richard Keplar
Greg
Brad Watson, Miami
Edit to take Clarissa off the list. DT made an excellent point about this.

There's a start. It barely scratches the surface

I say:

Being contrary?

What are we back in high school where we're all supposed to conform to our peers, and learn how to please the teacher?

Lawrence Holcomb -

Your thread reminds me of a saying...

Little thoughts please little minds.

D. Thomas says:
The Troll of Trolls, Christopher Haynes, actually trolls himself by lamely attempting to spoof his own kind. His posts are ignorant pastiches of abysmal ignorance composed by an ignoramus. Assuming he's not a failed POE, he's gotta be the Dear Leader of Trollistan.

And there's Horse, of course.

It's doubtful whether the newest supertroll, "Bradley Watson, Miami," has staying power. His personal Rapture/implosion/meltdown could take place at any time.

Doctor seems to be MIA.

Speaking of doctors, whatever happened to the batwacko physician Michael J. Oliveri? The very thought of that guy armed with a syringe or a scalpel struck fear into the hearts of those of us who need frequent medical attention: What if stuff like that is going on in MY doctor's brain? Shudddddder.

Can't really call Clarissa a troll. Same with Vickie. Their posts are featherweight fundy twaddle, but they're heartfelt. Seems like that alone ought to keep them off the honor roll of shameless trolls.

A Customer says:
The classic modus operandi of a troll is to start a thread to try and ostracize other others as being trolls. Pretty sure you'll find that tactic listed on page 1 of the Trolling Handbook.

By Lawrence Holcomb's definition, don't we all have a little bit a "troll" in us?

Brad is not a troll.

He is a serial silly person who gets angry if the maths don't add up, but I don't think he trolls.

Now crazyhorsehindquarters is a certified hypocrite and stalker to boot.

He's travellin' round cleanin' up these here threads of all naysayers and if he hasn't gotten round to you yet be patient.

There's a lot off people need sortin' out but he will be there soon enough like a badger with a toothache.

You're only saying that because you and Clarissa share the same superstitions about Jesus and zombies and such.

I don't know the first two. Brad Watson certainly has something wrong with him, but I don't really think of him as a troll, because I think that he is sincere in his insanity. But Clarissa? She's a sweetheart. How could you possibly say that she is a troll?

You weren't asked to name people wiith whom you disagree.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 12:29:05 PM PST
I think that suggesting that the nominated trolls be religious, is pretty unfair of you, Lawrence. After all, this is the Religion Forum, and irreligious posters almost qualify as trolls, by default. I mean, I don't like 'rap' music, but I'm not hanging out in the Rap Music Forum, ridiculing people who listen to it, am I?

Please note, I recognize that an atheist might have an interest in religion, and enter the Religion Forum to discuss their interest. I wouldn't be able to name three, though. Or even one.

Yeah, I'm all for starting a Clarissa appreciation society.

She has cracked me up so many times and she wears great hats.

Thank you for your kind words, Kenyon.

Irish Lace says: "Ah, so many trolls; so little time:"

Ariex: I think we accuse too quickly when we don't like the quality of someone's posts. Sure, we disagree, but if a person is sincere, should we call that person a troll? I may misunderstand the term, but I thought it was used to identify those who got their kicks out of being pests. Please correct me if I'm wrong there. By my (Misguided?) standards, Greg and Brad W. are surely trolls, but I hesitate to accuse Clarissa of such behavior, even though I find her declarations of "Fact" to be annoying.
