Songbird says:
Mm, hungry for snacks
But don't eat my feathered friends!
(Also, I never did learn to Haiku. I slaughter pentameter like a boss. But I can do alliteration, I can!)

songbird sings sweetly
sounds of spring softly surround
so seductively....

alliteration,
any amount is awkward
applied as an art

Songbird says:
smiling, I must say
I'm impressed with your Haiku-ness
still wanting a snack

Smiling! The word sings,
spreading happiness around;
hiding any fear.

this comment hurts me...
I'm surprised you didn't like
"...a slice of heaven¨

almost theistic,
it appeals to emotion
and invokes "heaven"

this was the closing
on all of the Christmas cards
I sent out this year...

"scent of evergreen"
was on all my photo cards
...also had this one...

Kids grow up so fast
so make memories that last
and cherish the past...

"icicles flying"

Indiana Jones... :D

This is a true story,
my father had a steel sled
pierce clear through his leg...

when he was younger
sledding through trees in his yard
...slid into a tree

sled went up the trunk
and came right back down on him
skewering his calf.

a long time ago
way before I was conceived
the scar is cool though...

one is on the shin
the other is out the back
like a bullet wound...
