Today, the cashiers at a Sam's Club greeted me with a "Have a happy Saint patty's day." I realize I live in a high drinking/catholic area, but this is America, not some other republic that is catholic based. Our first language is protestant and i expect to be greeted in white protestant land owning values, not what the catholics want. If I were in Brazil, I could understand being greeted by a, "Have a happy Saint patty's day." I felt very disrespected. What is happening to our wonderful republic?

Dear Oscar the grouch,

From yours: " "Have a happy Saint patty's day." "

I'd be more concerned with the revelation that there was a St. Patricia's day on the same day as St Patrick's.

Oh, stop being so touchy. My goodness. Who cares if you were offended, troll.

The real Oscar the Grouch would never be so humorless.

You oughta me glad someone was even talkin' to you, 'cause I sure wouldn't.

I'm calling Poe on this one.
Nicely done, Oscar.

Black Swan,

"I'm calling Poe on this one.
Nicely done, Oscar."

Oscar repeated a formula by someone else in his trolling. There is nothing clever in doing that.
..........

EDIT IN MAY 2013 : Anyhow, research has shown me that you and Oscar the grouch are both one and the same: LAWRENCE HOLCOMB. (You also write using Jonn Jonzz and AtheistSockPuppet.)

RE: Today, the cashiers at a Sam's Club greeted me with a "Have a happy Saint patty's day."

I know you're trolling, but I'm going to bite anyway and ask if you have something against designated drinking (and/or eating Irish food) days? Did you have an alcoholic wife that cheated on you and emptied your bank account?

You probably don't like Cinco de Mayo either.

May you never win a lottery where the prize is a beer or liquor distributorship!

You should all know that the frequently posting sock-puppet, BLACK SWAN, is actually LAWRENCE HOLCOMB. See mine of 2:48 AM on March 16th.

This is mentioned because of Lawrence Holcomb's denial of his obvious sock-puppet on "Anti-intellectualism". The thread will be bumped at other times for maximum viewing.

Well, I used to like to think that I had a unique voice, all my own, until Shelley-Baby came along and proved me wrong. So yeah, I guess I'm a little disappointed about that at least.

Songbird,

There is a pretty lengthy application to be filled out, along with a one-time, non-refundable application fee, but sure. No problem.

Ooh look, Black Swan, Lawrence Holcomb's sock-puppet, has joined the merry fray.

I've never paid much attention to Lawrence Holcomb's posts, but I'm guessing he must be pretty damned funny and intelligent if you think I'm him.

Okay - let's open this little thread up again and make it fit its original purpose.

Questions:

1) In what circumstances could you be greeted by a, (sic) - grammar of the title makes me sick - "Have a happy Saint patty's day" in the middle of May?

2) Could it only happen in Ireland? If so, give reasons.

bang in the middle of May.
The man's a twerp

I thought there was only one way one could interpet that? There's more? How do you interpet that? What did you mean by it?

Songbird says:
1. Will the application include criminal history, comedic history, or cosmetological history? The secrets to my hair health are bound by several non-competes, NDAs, and scrunchies.
2. Do you take nonlocal (Nigerian bank) checks?

Lawrence Holcomb - you are always self-buttering through your sock-puppets on this Forum and on Gold Box.
