Name Brand. Not a cheap generic. A person who's integrity costs more than the lower priced spread. Earned the Good Housekeeping Seal. Any ho charging more than $25.

There's Hotten's 'Original List of Persons of Quality' that included the category 'Religious Exiles'.

Now that is what I call a tenuous link.

Quantity" and "quality" are not factors in the world-wide web...(edit; Nor are they factors in human "normal" communication, given the influence of "Textspeak" and "Google"...(IMHO, LOL and =). ..

Cliff Sedge says:
Possibly.

All I know is that I'm no person of quality.

A seriously minded liberal. Or a serioulsy minded weasel. Anyone who puts the common good ahead of their own good within their capacity for doing so. Surprisingly: Warren Buffet or the new Bill Gates(!).

I think in days of old it referred to people of elevated social standing. Nobility especially.

Yes. And I hate that concept. That's how we get seriously poor leadership (just ask the Brits about WW1 or our own Union generals during the Civil War). I prefer changing the phrase to mean "good" rather than "well born"

Yeah, you won't get me defending nobility.

'Good' - I s'pose. An intact moral compass. Humaneness.

This election cycle clearly highlight how little "Humaneness" there is to be had. It's not my job to worry about those 47%? Even if we know that isn't exactly what he meant it opens a window into the very center of the hole in his soul.

Best way to sort them all out with no prior or personal information what-so-ever:

A person of quality is that guy or gal who puts their shopping-cart back in the stall.
That guy or gal who does not is a worthless you-know-what.

Try it yourself, investigate, you will realize how true this is.
