Jenny says:
Story starts with a broth and sister inheriting a plantation from a relative, I think it's a grandfather. They travel from England to America. They meet with an attorney only to find out that they have to completely overhaul the property and turn a profit within a year, otherwise the property will go to their neighbor. The neighbor is angry because he thinks property should go to him for reason I can't remember. The dead grandfather was a horribly mean person and the neighbor hated him and starts out thinking he will hate the brother and sister. The sister is really ill from the trip getting to America. Then the neighbor starts to fall in love of course with the sister. Things start to go good then an evil OW starts problems. Oh and the sister witnessed her family burn to death and has what can only be described as possible PTSD .

Does this sound familiar to anyone??? the name escapes me and is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance with any help provided!

I don't think this is the book, but it has a similar theme: Sweet Release (Kenleigh/Blakewell Family Saga) by Pamela Clare.

A woman and her younger brother are running the family plantation because the father is going insane. They buy a convict from England to help, and of course he and the h fall in love.

I'd love to know the name of the one you're describing, though, as it sounds great, too!

Allow me to add that I read this awhile ago and it was a really good book. I was trying to remember the name for a friend of mine and my mind was drawing a complete and total blank. I am blaming that on the upcoming forty something birthday I have coming up:) thanks again!

I think you are describing a book by Jennifer Blake or Kristen James. I have read it also.
