I'm looking for books that have a good amount of angst whether its alot or just enough that you can actually feel it! I'm mainly looking into historicals but contemporary and paranormal are fine as well. As for the estranged couples part, I'm looking for something along the lines of Private Arrangements and Not Quite A Husband by Sherry Thomas. Thanks in advance!!

EgyptIt's based on true historical events and it's also an interesting read. It really makes you think about the consequences of love.

Not sure if you're familiar with Linda Winfree and her Hearts of the South series, but several of her stories have this theme as a central point - and others have it as part of the couple's backstory.

His Ordinary Life (Hearts of the South)

Beyond the Savage Sea (Lovestruck) is a very angsty historical set in the colonial Caribbean. I'm not a big historical reader, but I loved it.
