The problem is that it`s not that easy to do a search. I was fairly sure there`d been discussions about self-published books but when I searched for it, I only got all kinds of threads where people had mentioned self-published books - not the thread about self-published books. So I made one myself.

And a couple of weeks ago I searched for an author I liked and found a thread that I revived. But this thread was two years old (I hadn`t noticed) and the thread starter seemed to be a bit embarrassed that her old thread was bumped.

I wish it was a bit easier to find old topics without going back page by page and reading all the topic titles. And another thing - I`ve still to find out how to get to the other topics. I can only find for instance paranormal romance if someone posts something there and it pops up in the "most popular threads". I haven`t found a "thread-tree". Maybe there isn`t one and maybe I`m just blind? I`ve only been in this discussion forum a year or two so I`m a real newbie LOL.

Apart from that I agree - some books/authors seem to have a gazillion threads.

My comment was for the simple threads. The latest is the The Unwanted Wife. We started discussing in a regular thread and it was over running it. Someone posted this book in its own thread for all of the discussions on it alone. I opened up the romance forum and there was a new thread on it with a question!! That is what kindof irkes me. It wasn't the only one like that. It makes the threads move farther away when someone does this. Then the regular threads keep falling further back and sometimes have to be *bumped* to get it to the first page again. Just seems like a waste.

As far as finding other forums for things like paranormal, I have read on and off over time that this forum is the only one that seems to be active always. Others like the Historical romance, gets a post every couple of weeks.

Older threads such as this one are still relevant imo. If I find one that sound good from forever ago, I state that when I bump it. Good books are always coming out and may have the things we readers are looking for from that specific thread. When they are not *bumped*, they are somewhat lost. I put one here over a year ago on physical handicaps for the H/h. the posters were very generous with there recs. One even posted about 5 pages ( I printed it) worth of books and their handicaps listed in each different genre. I tried to find it when posters started asking for this again and it is not there. I even pulled up the http I had on it and it was gone. I wished it had been *bumped* it had a wealth of info.

I guess I am just an** about certain things and when something is repeated too often, I see spots. Just my craziness, I usually just grind my teeth and go to another thread and never say anything. I think it has been since July when I *bumped* this one!!!!.

It always irks me too, it's not that hard to look forward a few pages to see if your thread has already been posted. But I've learned that's just the nature of these forums, and I can pretty much ignore it now.

Noticing some new people looking for the same stuff that has been asked recently. Check the original post on page 1 here and it will tell you how to find threads on this forum for your questions. Most of the newer post are fairly active post already such as, What do I read next with author Kristen Ashley or other books like Unwanted Wife or angsty romances. Newbies try these in the search before posting a new discussion. You might find that the previous ones have great answers! Saves on getting the regular threads that many of us participate in pushed back off front page. Happy Hunting!

Here are some forums I found looking for this post that might help as well: romance romance romance romance m romance

Might be a good idea to 'bump' this thread occasionally...

I thought I'd let you guys know that there is a thread devoted to finding less-active fora and it also has some other help, as well.
