I think that I am fourth to recommend Escorted.

The HEA is not simple.

The hero is damaged. The heroine clearly understands that she cannot "rescue" the hero. Heck, she is guilty of using him too. She paid him (over and over) for sex. They both make understandable mistakes. They help each other. They are a beautiful couple.

I second the recommendation of Samson's Lovely Mortal. I found it to be a very enjoyable read.

If anyone got The Sweetest Revenge when it was free, you should give it a try. It was different and I really liked it a lot.

Irene, you remind me of one of my best friends who would buy an album because of one small part in one song... :-)

The trouble with this thread is the same with the free thread. Too many good books coming at me too fast. AAAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! (For your viewing pleasure, my head will now explode.) :)

These were all free at one time or another. If anyone is a fan of Sci-fi or Fantasy Romance you might pull these up from the TBR pile. I've read them all and really liked them.

When Sparks Fly (Spark Series)
No Words Alone (Spark Series)
Tsunami Blue (The Tsunami Blue Series)
Demon Possession (Shadow Quest Book 1)
Eternal Seduction (A Darkness Within #1)

This isn't an actual "freebie" but it was dropped in price and I read in 1 day (today in fact) you need to like PNR but it's also mixed with steam punk, which is something I had never read b/4. Kiss of Steel

Just finished Escorted and it was so good! Thanks again for the loan.

I liked Tsunami Blue too So well I bought the sequel.
Just finished Dating a Cougar. Fun Read
I don't know that I'll buy the next in the series but only because I have so many books in my TBR pile
Also picked up A Knight in Central Park quite some time ago. Nice read but I'm not much into historical.

To the Princess Bound (Terms of Mercy) is free again. I got it previously when free and read it then. I thought it was really well written and had a great concept, but I disliked it anyway. The graphic descriptions of abuse that the heroine went through got to the point that I couldn't enjoy the story any longer. (Not a spoiler, the book description makes it clear what the book involves)/ I'm not particularly squeamish or sensitive, but I still have disturbing scenes from the book pop into my mind after all this time. Anyway- I just wanted to make sure people know that it isn't all tender hugs and healing. Be ready for an emotionally draining story.

I got Whispering Coves when it was free and I didn't want to put it down. There were some parts that kind of wandered, but on the whole, it was a really, really good book for me. Here's the blurb:

While Shyla Walters is recovering in the St Louis Stress Center her husband Jaycob lets the lease go on their apartment. He rents an old plantation house called Whispering Cove Plantation on the outskirts of Savannah, Georgia, thinking it's the perfect setting for Shyla to truly heal from the devastating loss of her brother and grandmother, the tragedy that cost Shyla her sanity.

Shyla now has to readjust to life outside the stress center in an entirely new location and home, with a husband who has become a stranger to her. As Shyla tries to cope with life outside of the stress center she is faced with a new struggle. Life at Whispering Cove Plantation isn't what it seems. Shadows tend to move on their own and whispers from the cove seem to echo of a tainted past in every darkened hallway.

I got The Seven Devils (New Adult Fiction) when it was free and I think someone asked about it on here. Well it sounded good and it started off well enough...and then it wasn't the best. There were a few parts that were kind of ridiculous and didn't make sense, like the unpopular girl making a comment and hurting the h's reputation. It wasn't bad but by the time you see what's happening it just seems almost silly and it's hard to really care. Also, it has an open ending.

I also read The Girl and the Genie It was bad. Not editing bad but just why the heck is this girl so annoying bad. The h seems to care about 3 different men throughout the story and her mother ****spoiler****gives up a car and takes money for it so she can pay for a wedding for the h and a man she literally met that day. It was just not entertaining.

However, once again I must agree Escorted was great :)

The Ten Year Affair was offered for free the other day, it it really bad. This book is currently being discussed in other threads. The H treated the h like a booty call for 10 yrs and she lets him treat her like that. He never wanted to marry her and even though he supposedly loved her from the first time they met.

Hi Minicheerios,

I thought it was good, but I like stories where the hero is logical and the heroine is sort of free spirited. However, it did take me a couple of chapters to get fully engrossed into the story. It was cute and well written.

Thank you for the Kiss of Steel rec. I'm reading it now and it's excellent I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. I've encountered so many DNF's lately that I have become very skeptical of the freebies and cheaper e books.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 15, 2013 10:46:58 AM PST
No denying, in order to get the good cheaper fiction, we have to sort a LOT of pathetic, poor, or even mediocre books to find the good ones. It's so nice, though, when you come across a real good, exciting read in the pile.

I have just read Falling for the Ghost of You
I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is under YA, but for anyone. No s-x scenes, only implied. A terrific read. You can see what it is all about from the book description which I won't both putting here. I am about to leave my review.
Sorry, just added this to the post.
Have also finished Sheriff In Her Stocking
This was also a fantastic read, and the s-x scenes were smokin' hot. If you like that sort of book, then this is definitely for you. Plus a terrific story.
