Great idea, bep
I agree with many of your selections. I also liked the Marquess of Dain in "Lord of Scoundrels" by Loretta Chase. One of my favorite books.

Clayton from "Whitney My Love". Might not want him in real life (well maybe), but he made the book a BIG PAGE TURNER for me.

Don't judge me, but I loved that Hero, to each his own!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot about Julian Darcangelo. Oh, my goodness. Took me a few days to get him off my mind, but Clayton is still #1.

I wanted to add these two:

Cam from Mine Til Midnight
Marco from No Man's Son (Doris Sutcliffe Adams) - way, way out of print, but one of my first fictional loves. The time period is during one of the siege's of Acre during the Middle Ages. Marco was a whoreson (literally born of a prostitute, probably fathered by one of the crusaders), part time assassin and trader, believed to be an infidel (big deal during that time) and universally hated. He had the most magnificent pride. I still picture him, the picture of arrogance, riding a camel through the market of Acre, crowded with armed men who just really wanted to cut him down. He befriended the household of an aging crusader, a knight, after the knight's daughter saved him from an attack by several men while he was unarmed (bathing on the beach). He attached himself to the household and made himself her protector, her shadow. It is a wonderful book, and unfortunately is in that hole where it is out of print but still covered by copyright. I wish the author's family would pursue kindle release.

Many of my favorite heroes have been mentioned like Derek Craven from Dreaming of You, but I want to give a shout out to Carla Kelly's wonderful heroes. David Wiggins, for example, from The Lady's Companion and Oliver Worthy from Marrying The Captain (Harlequin Historical). They are so human and yet so perfect.

The Duchess War (The Brothers Sinister)

I'd like to add a new hero - I just finished reading "The Duchess War" by Courtney Milan. (Link above)

The Hero, Robert Blaisdell, Duke of Clermont, is wonderful. (Not the usual run-of-the-mill historical romance.)
