I just read Untamed (Medieval Book 1) by Elizabeth Lowell. The h is kidnapped and she tells the kidnappers tha the H won't bother to save her.

I'd like to have more with this story line.

I've also read The Tycoon's Pregnant Mistress (The Anetakis Tycoons Book 1) by Maya Banks. The h doesn't tell the kidnappers that the H won't come but after a lot of time passes and the H doesn't respond to the demands then the h believes he doesn't care.

I don't think this is quite what you're looking for, but in Black Ice by Anne Stuart and Demon (The Fallen) by Kristina Douglas (Anne Stuart's PNR pseudonym), the heroes give the heroines to the villains, so no one (not even the heroes) expects them to come to the rescue.

Thanks everyone. And duh I completely forgot about What Mattered Most and I loved that book - well, after the H pulled his head out of his nether region. I'll check out the other ones.

Anyone else?

Actually, I just read a book that had this. It was Urban Fantasy, though.

Night Blade (Colbana Files Book 2)

It's book 2 in a series, and the kidnapping is pretty brutal (rape and beatings).
