I want to know if there are any other women that feel as I do about the endless boring sex scenes that some writers think they have to include to sell a story. Don't get me wrong I love a good romance story but overt sex ain't romance in my humble opinion!!

Yes, I generally skim past them. I don't need the graphic descriptions of what they're doing or how they're doing it. For me, one of the sexiest scenes in the movies is when Clark Gable carries Vivian Leigh up the stairs in GWTW. And then how she smiles the next morning. I don't need to see the details. I can imagine them just fine for myself.

I agree with you Red. I don't mind a few sex scenes that are done well but the sex scenes every few pages or every chapter get repetitive and become boring. The story usually (if there is a story at all) usually suffers to make room for the multitude of sex scenes. BORING

Totally agree with you - if we could just get more people to express the same thing maybe the authors would listen.

Read My Brother Michael (Mary Stewart). At the end you KNOW they're going to be together forever. Yet he never kissed her lips. I don't mind sex scenes but get tired of thrusting body parts and "special" fluid for his HUGE dangly bits

Often times sex is confused with romance. A romance scene when handled right can be as simple as holding hands or a look across a crowded room. To me this can be more romantic than a thousand different ways to complete the 'act'. Of course if you don't agree you are the target audience for these authors and you are satisfied with things as they are.

Two Days of a Dream -- one *kiss* in the entire book, and I still loved it.

I read everything EXCEPT true crime.
After a few years of reading murder mysteries, all types of paranormal & time travel, I got back on the romance train. You will all probably hate me for this but, at the moment, I love "Over blown hanging from the ceiling sex scenes". Years ago when I was reading romance books 'mommy porn' was not an option, and I was too young to apprecite it anyway...
Yes, I do like a romance. Just sex for sex sake is not appealing to me. I like to believe that the H and h will have a HEA, and will be swinging from the chandeliers for years to come. At least until old age and arthritis become a factor. ;-)
I am sure, before too long, I will move on to a different genre of literature. Until then............

It's a mood thing for me. Most of the time I prefer a romantic book, character driven, which may or may not culminate in a sex scene, but if so, in the last 1/3rd or so. But every once in awhile, I want a mad lust thrill ride. (Skip the kink, though. No BDSM, menage, etc.) Something like "Midnight Man". Now I'm going to want about 20 romances to one lust fest, but I've gotta have a few. :=)
