Any good recs whereby the shy quiet heroine has been in love with the hero for years, but he is in the clutches of the other woman, blindly infatuated and unaware of her true nature.

He finally catches on and discovers that the heroine is captivating, selfless and adorable, and that the OW is deceitful shallow and self-centered.

Passionate Bid (Blue-Eyed Four Series)

This fits perfectly: the H comes to the h because he wants a divorce and considers marrying the OW.

SPOILERS
Later he finds out that the ow tried to murder his child ...

Aftershocks
It's a YA book where the h meets and likes the H but he has a horrible girlfriend. It's worth checking out.

In the 1700s lovely, young, and poverty-striken, Amanda Prescott was forced to support herself and her invalid mother any way she could. Cast into prison for stealing, she was horrified to learn that she would be transported to the American colonies to serve her term as an indentured servant. Her master turned out to be none other than the dashing plantation owner Tony Brandt, the very man who had unwittingly caused Amanda's downfall. Yet from their first passionate embrace, Amanda knew her heart would belong to him forever.

Have you read Silver Lining by Maggie Osbourn, really good book and not so nice OW - Now meet the most irresistible and independent heroine of them all, a woman called Low Down, who never had anything good happen to her until the day she asked for the one thing that only a man could give her. . . .

As scruffy and rootless as the other prospectors searching for gold in the Rockies, Low Down wanted nothing in return for nursing a raggedy bunch through the pox. But when pressed to reveal her heart's wish, she admits, "I want a baby." Not a husband, not a forced marriage to the proud man who drew the scratched marble and became honor bound to marry her. To be sure, Max McCord was easy on the eyes, but he loved another woman and dreamed of a different life. Yet they agreed to a temporary marriage that could end only in disaster. But can this strange twist of fate lead to the silver lining that both have been searching for?

The Greek's Christmas Baby (Harlequin Presents) His PA is very manipulative and wants him. The h fights back and it is great when he starts to see the light.

Highland Vow by Hannah Howell, although I have to say that this H was the most block headed H in reading history. After the OW claims her family forced her into FOUR marriages (where the husband mysteriously died shortly after the vows), he STILL believed in her (eye roll).

The Tycoon's Pregnant Mistress (Silhouette Desire) by Maya Banks. The PA planted evidence on the h to make the H thinks she was stealing and selling company secrets. When he threw her out (she had just discovered she was pregnant), she was kidnapped and the PA kept the ransom demands from him hoping they would kill her.

The Right Bride: Book Three: The Hunted Series
By Jennifer Ryan
High-powered businessman Cameron Shaw doesn't believe in love-until he falls head over heels for beautiful, passionate, and intensely private Martina. She's perfect in so many ways, immediately bonding with his little girl. Martina could be his future bride and a delightful stepmother ... if only Cameron weren't blinded by his belief that Shelly, the gold-digging woman he's promised to marry, is pregnant with his child.

No matter how much his friends protest his upcoming marriage to Shelly, Cameron knows he has a duty to his children, so he's determined to see it through.

Will he find out in time that Shelly's lying and Marti's the one who's actually carrying his child? It'll come down to the day of his wedding. After choosing Shelly over Marti at every turn, will he convince Marti she's his world and the only woman he wants?

But did you still want to hit him after, or did he manage to redeem? Also...grovel, anything like that?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 27, 2015 5:04:08 AM PDT
Not Karazme but honestly, the H of The right bride had the brain capacity of amoeba while the h was the president of DoormatsRUs.Inc. He's a widower with a kid. She's an undercover multi-billionaire who's a cross between Picasso, Betty Crocker, Nanny McPhee and <insert name of favorite porn star here>. The H is engaged to a woman who has a neon sign saying "gold digger" on her head. She's the stereotypical OW, mean, bitchy, gold digging etc... treats his daughter badly but to the H, she can do no wrong. This is a man who runs a huge corporation but while everyone around him recognizes what sort of woman the OW is, including his 6 year old daughter, the H r remains obstinately blind, He repeatedly smexes the h while engaged to someone else but accuses her of horrible things, refuses to believe she's pregnant even though she pees on the stick in front of him. At no point does he grovel. When he finds out the h is wealthy, suddenly she is trustworthy and believable. He deserved the OW and nowhere in the book do you see what's so hero-like about him. If you're reading this, have plenty of chocolate handy. And a good book to be used as a chaser to this one.
