Help! Haunted by a scene!

I have this scene in my head that I can not remember where its from!
The book was definitively a contemporary romance.
I think it takes place near the end of the book. The h is trapped inside of a house after being kidnapped. The house is wired with explosives so she can't leave. The H I think is a cop and I remember that a friend of hers is there and she is able to read lips so the h is able to communicate that way. It's very vivid in my head. It wasn't a quick read either. I also remember that the h had some sass to her.
I know that is not a lot to go on but that is the scene... help?

Ok... details.
Last night I remembered a little more about the details. Hope this helps a little cause this is driving me crazy!!!!
So the heroine in the story is trapped in this house; I'm pretty sure she was kidnapped but I have no idea why but she could have also been nosing around and then got caught. I do remember that she has some spunk to her character. Anyway, the villain isn't there anymore (not sure if he left or if she disabled him but I think he left to do something) but he has rigged the house to explode should anyone enter or exit without his permission/help. The hero arrives with backup and if he isn't a cop then he certainly has those cop/military skills. I know that she is able to communicate with the group outside the house trying to get her out but I think maybe she uses sign language as they can't risk getting close enough to hear her...maybe because of or with a (temporarily? at some point?) hearing impaired brother? So they can't get her out and it creates a nicely dramatic scene. Then if I'm remembering correctly the heroine freaks out and finds a way out through the foundation. I remember that it was a really tight squeeze to get her out that way and she was dragged out by the hero when she was far enough to grab. I do remember that she got scrapped up and got bugs in her pants on the way out and they have to whisk them off her to get her cleaned up. And then I think the house explodes. I'm not sure if this is right at the end but I don't think so... I think it's definitely in the latter half of the book though.

I listened to Julie Garwood's Killjoy: A Novel yesterday and thought I had you book but turned out the only thing that matched your book is the house was wired. The heroine's aunt was on way to meet Avery (her niece) at a spa but she is kidnapped along with two other ladies and taken to secluded mansion for the night and they discover the next morning they the house has been wired to explode if they leave. Avery meets up with an ex-marine at the spa and they set out to rescue her aunt. Two escape the house by knocking hole through external wall.

The only book I can think of is Mouth to Mouth by Erin McCarthy.

Well... I really really wish either of those recommendations rang a bell with me but they do not. At all. I don't even think I've seen them before. But I'll definitely put them on my to read list! You never know! Maybe I'm wrong...
AND the Killjoy rec make me look through Julie Garwood's books... which brought me to Slow Burn. This one looks promising. Although not ringing any bells but boy do I want to read it!
I keep thinking I need to look at the KGI books or Wild Card by Lora Leigh but I've skimmed them and I can't find it!! Ahhhh!
Wow, don't you just LOVE how memory works?!? or doesn't in my case xD

I'd also like to read this book

I'm trying to think. Didn't Karen Rose have a scene like this in one of her books?

I was thinking Slow Burn too but I don't remember her being dragged out through the foundation or the bugs. I hope you remember the title because it sounds good.

Well, I'm gonna read Slow Burn next so I'll let u know! And you never know... I could be adding in the foundation bit from something else... I don't think so but you never know.
Karen Rose... not sure I've ever heard of her but I'll look through them after I eliminate slow burn.

Now you've got me banging my head against the wall because this scenes sounds so familiar, but I can't think of any book titles! I'm probably going on a whim here, but I'm thinking it might be one of Roxanne St. Claire's Bullet Catcher series or Christy Reece's Last Chance Rescue series? Will get back to you because now I need to find out too! LOL

This sounds similiar to a Heather Graham book I read but can't remember which one. Maybe it was set in Florida? It definitely sounds like something I've read.

My search continues.

I've recently read all the last chance rescue and don't think that scene was in there. I really hope we find this book, I really want to read it now.

Parts of the description sound like they could match Edge of Sight (The Guardian Angelinos), however the former military hero in this one is missing an eye. I'm pretty sure you would have mentioned that if it were this one. I'll keep thinking on it though.

That was the book I was thinking about too. I recalled a scene like that in one of Roxanne St. Claire's book, but I'm not sure.

I am reading a book now, Mist by JL Wilson which has at least part of that scenario. The h was kidnapped 7 years ago by a serial killer (the bride killer) she managed to escape after 40 days and the house blew up and burned behind her (he had warned her it would do that if she tried to escape). I'm not sure if it happens again, because I'm not to the end yet, but the H, who is her body guard, is ex-military and both are working with the police to lure the killer out.

I read this a while ago and it sounds familiar The Blonde Bomb Tech (Siren Publishing Classic)?
I can't find it to check right now.
