Hey all,
I was just re-reading Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good romance novels featuring paramedic/EMT heroes or heroines.
Thanks for any suggestions.
S.

Sudden Response (EMS Series) by R. L. Mathewson - both the H and h are paramedics. Relatively light story rather than intense but I enjoy her writing a lot.

Slow Hands (Harlequin Blaze)

H is a paramedic but h mistakenly believes he's a gigolo. A bit silly, but not bad, and the price is right!

i can think of a lot of m/m ones...but I doubt you want them...lol!

Second Chances by Carolyn Faulkner. I really like it, but it's a "spanking" romance (not BDSM), so YMMV.

there is an old romance series by Kathryn Shay I think, that features Paramedics and firemen...most of the time now you see them dual-hatting

Jennifer, did you like Second Chances? I don't mind spanking romances but I don't like books where the heroine spends most of her time obsessing about how fat she is and the reviews made it sound like she might be that way.

I'm not Jennifer but this heroine is pretty much like that. And the H spanks her for it.. A LOT. A LOT lol. I'm not a big reader of spanking stories but I think it was a little excessive.

Thanks. I don't mind a little self-consciousness - because after all, how many women really think that they are perfect? - but I hate books where the heroine spends the whole time putting herself down. Lori Foster tends to do that too.

Sorry to take the thread off topic. I'll see if I can come up with any other suggestions.

I See You by Holly Lisle is a romantic suspense where the heroine is a paramedic. It's got a touch of paranormal in it... If that makes a difference to you.

Seducing Simon by Maya Banks. H is a paramedic.

Some of the books in the Serve and Protect series by Anna Leigh Keaton have Paramedic/EMT's. The others are firefighters and cops.
Rescue Me (To Serve and Protect 4)
Healing Touch [To Serve and Protect: 6]

The heroine does spend some time lamenting her size, but having grown up with her own mother harping on it all the time it was more than just her own insecurity at play. The hero does a great job convincing her she's perfect just the way she is. She got a little whiny at times (esp when she was sick), but overall I liked her okay. I thought it was a good book and have reread it more than once.

for some faster reads, try:

Lori Foster --
Caught In The Act (Men to Rescue) and
Heartbreakers: Treat Her Right\Mr. November (Hqn Romance).

Caught -- Cop
Treat her right - EMT
Mr November - Firefighter

They're all friends, so the series continues.

one of the Demonica books has EMTS

Jill Shalvis' series (1) Flashpoint and (2) Flashback features firemen. In Flashpoint, the heroine is an EMT.

These are Harlequin Blaze, and are fairly quick reads, but in-depth enough to be good. You do need to read them in order (there is a continuing storyline of arson from one to the next).

Re: Slow Hands

I enjoyed this--it was cute. :) And, yes, you can't beat the price.

Wade in No Longer Mine is a paramedic/EMT but he is such as azzhat that you will want to run him down with the ambulance.

Erin Nicholas's Bradfords series has two books with paramedic Hs in it (the 2nd and 3rd book):

Just Like That

Just My Type

The first book in the series is about an ER nurse and a doctor:

Just Right (The Bradfords)

I have read the third book in the series and I liked it. It's not on my favorites list but I probably would reread it even though I wanted to smack the H upside the head several times. However, I find that is true with almost all romances where the H is the big brother's best friend and I love that theme anyway.

I haven't read the first or second book in the series yet. I would note that I didn't feel there was much focus on the H being a paramedic in Just My Type, but from the product description, it sounds like the second book may have more of that.
