Despite having read all kinds of romance novels about heroes who are vampires, british rakes, or what have you; small town heroes just reel me in like crazy! Maybe it's the idea that they're more likely to be a living, breathing person?? I dunno :) Either way, does anyone have any *good* suggestions? lol, and I mean *good* as in DEFINITELY worth reading :)

I LOVED the hero from Kathy Love's "Getting What You Want." *sighs* Chase Jordan with his charm, calloused hands, and slight disability. And I adored Tucker Avery from Cynthia Hand's "Unearthly." He's a gentleman who goes to church every Sunday and does rodeo and works physical labor.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, young adult and/or adult.

Thanks so much and take care!!

Alexandra, I am not familiar with the two books you mentioned. But for small-town heroes, you must read Virgin River and Shelter Mountain by Robyn Carr. Both Jack and Preacher are two wonderful small town heroes.

Here are some of my favs

Exposure by Susan Andersen, H former bad boy turn town Sheriff with a disability, h is southern gal with a southern drawl who feminine but knows her way around a car engine, she has very cute daughter who has captured the H.

Lietha Wards book has a bunch of small town setting but the H are usually very alpha and well respected, her books are mostly cowboy romance.

Mackenzie series by Linda Howard, I like most of her earlier work

Lauren Dane's Chase Brothers series... 4 yummy brothers in the little town of Petal Georgia. One of my fave series out there.

NJ Walters Jamesville series. 7 books set in small town Maine. Another fave series.

though both are from Samhain - the steam factor is more sexy than erotic (no menage, BDSM, backdoor or other kinky stuff).

Sable Hunter's Hell Yeah series. 4 books in a Texas small town/farming community. Steam factor - as above.

Jo Davis Firefighters of Station 5 series. 5 books in smallish Sugarland Tennessee (one of the guys lives on a small ranch complete with horses). Steam factor - hot and steamy although no BDSM, menage or kink (there is one backdoor scene in book 1 and another in book 4, both are pretty brief and tame however).

Lisa Marie Rice - Woman on the Run. Tiny Simpson Idaho. Heroine is in witness protection, hero is a former SEAL now a rancher. Hot and sexy, no backdoor, BDSM, menage or kink.

Tonya Ramagos' "The Heroes of Silver Springs" series is set in a Small Town. Heroes are predominantly fire fighters. A couple of books have threesomes and bdsm (light-ish). Good series though. Book 1 Caught off Guard

Slow heat in heaven by sandra brown. Cash is a small town guy whose totally swoon worthy. The book couldve done with a bit more romance but DONT be deterred by that, its def a worthy read.
