Dora: VERY nice post for the "last" on the original "I'm currently reading . . ." thread! And from one of my favorite authors - Garwood! :) Thanks! Maybe I'm a bit sentimental, but a thread that "successful" needs a bit of a send-off! What better author than J. Garwood . . . only M. Balogh or J. Quinn for me perhaps . .. okay, NO not "better," but still GREAT for me! THANKS! :)
K.

K,

Thanks.

You made me smile.

Actually, I was worried about the first quote, since I know you were not crazy about Comanche Moon.

Julie Garwoods, are just great for quotes, as you well know by the GOSM threads. I was afraid of making mistakes so I did not dare try to paraphrase without the books in front of me.

I thank you for suggesting the quote idea. I was waiting for you to come back and make a quote.

Waving a quick hello.

I have sent some time posting in various threads.

I spent time deciding which books to read to get the most bang for the challenges of A-Z and Lifetime.

One good thing about doing the challenges, especially the Lifetime challenge. I am going way out of the box for authors, I would never had thought of reading, or maybe I would have thought of reading if they were mentioned more often.

Some of the names I have been looking at other then Seton and Heyer, I would not have looked at. I usally pick out new authors/books by hearing the reviews here. Now I feel I am going blind. Scarry and fun.

Now I will continue reading hard Evidence by Pamela Clare. Which has to be returned to the library.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

I'm halfway through The Soldier & The Baby by Anne Stuart. It's an old Harlequin American Romance book that has been on my TBR pile since last spring. The A-Z Author Challenge has inspired me to read 5 books from my TBR pile so far. That is a GOOD THING. I really have a lot of good books on the pile so I'm certainly not suffering.

I finsihed up Lord of Scoundrels last night! loved it! next up - Tymber dalton's Love Slave for Two: Beginnings and Family Matters (1st and 3rd in the series); as well as Almost Forever and Bluebird Winter by Linda Howard and A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton

Hi Dora L:

Thank You for the lists. Right now working on the A-Z one...that will probably aid me in the lifetime challenge as well. I am half way through One Night For Love. Very sweet story so far. He is not an Alpha male from what I've read...very beta.

I'm currently reading the Shelly Laurenston pack series right now. I just finished book two and liked it a lot! I love a strong heroine. On to book three tonight.
I stopped into my local Borders store to use the internet and saw that they have the latest Virgin River book out Moonlight Road. It isn't supposed to be released until March 1st and I've already preordered it for my kindle... but I'm very tempted to buy the paperback because its here.
I'll probably hold off. I know the new JD Robb book is coming out next week and I'll be getting that for my birthday so I'll hold out on buying any new books for now.

Dora - Just out of curiosity how are you enjoying "Hard Evidence"? I just finished reading it and I enjoyed it very much.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 18, 2010 2:55:13 PM PST
Dora & Kat - I am re-reading Hard Evidence now, how funny. I am ~200 pages in. Good book huh?! Love me my Juilian! Since Naked Edge is coming out in less than 2 weeks I really felt like a refresher of the I-Team, and this is the only one I still have in my keeper box of books.

I just read 4 Books by Lisa Marie Rice (Ellora's Cave Pub.) and was VERY Pleasantly surprised at how great they were. Definitely worth reading, with smart gutsy heroines.

Midnight Run
Midnight Man
Midnight Angel
A Fine Specimen

LOOOOOOVED all of these.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 18, 2010 3:13:28 PM PST
goodie - i have midnight man in my TBR pile! thanks for the heads up

D.C.,

Lisa Marie Rice rocks! I love to reread her books.

Other books to read by her that you may enjoy:
Dangerous Lover
Dangerous Secret
Dangerous Passion
Port of Paradise

Out of those, Port of Paradise and Dangerous Passion are my favs. You don't have to read the Dangerous books in order, they aren't really connected. The Midnight series is the only series that needs to be read in order.

LMR also writes as Elizabeth Jennings. She has a romantic suspense titled Pursuit.

Deanna,

Midnight Man is great, it's my favorite LMR book. You will want to read the other two Midnight books afterwards because the H/h are still in those because her friends are the heroines.

lol...thanks! my goal right now is to get rid of my TBR pile before i buy anything more...we'll see how long that lasts! i'm doing some of the challenges on goodreads and using my TBR pile as much as possible...

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 18, 2010 3:51:15 PM PST
D.D. says:
Melissa B: I've actually read all of those except Port of Paradise. I'm sure I'll be reading that one soon. It's been so long since I've read the Dangerous Books I don't remember what they're about. Guess it's time for a reread!!!

KarLyn,

I will give a final opinion tomorrow. I am up and down with Julian. He is nice there are some things that I am not sure about yet.

I did not return Hard evidence by Pamela clare or The Darkest Heart by Brenda Joyce I want to reread this one. I did return The Scotsman

I took out four older books for the challenges.

Tonight I will finish reading Hard Evidence straight through.

Hello everyone, I'm going to start on Ravishing In Red by Madeline Hunter some time today.

Kathleen--is that a new one? Is it part of a series?

Ok - just finished One Perfect Rose by M.J. Putney - sigh...what an awesome book! While our Hero is only loosely related to her other Fallen Angels, I think this was the best of the bunch! Almost a perfect 5 for me - the only thing holding me back from giving it a 5 (and I might change my mind) was the ending - was a bit "off" for me, not sure why. Just thought I'd share...

Waving hi to everyone.

I just started Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas. K, I know this is one of your favorite books by one of your favorite authors. But after 120 pages it is only beginning to interest me. The first 60 plus pages were filled with hormone saturated unrequited teenage desire, which bored me to death. Even if it had been requited - and it almost was, it would have bored. It is now 12 years later and the story is getting a little more interesting because the heroine has a deep dark secret. That is what is keeping me going now.

I am also reading Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility and loving every word of it. This must be the third or fourth time I have read this book since I first read it in 1995.

This weekend I am taking an intensive writing class - three hours tonight and nine to five Saturday and Sunday. So I won't be back until Monday at the earliest. And somewhere I need to trim bushes. Spring has arrived in the Pacific Northwest with a vengeance.

Bill

Hi kathleen,

What do you compare Madeline Hunter's regency to her Medieval. I have the Sinner (I think or other title) but I have heard they are nto as good.
