Found another one:

Tycoon Warrior (Texas Cattleman's Club: Lone Star Jewels) (Silhouette Desire, No 1364) by Sheri Whitefeather
-- h left H 3 yrs ago & neither filed for divorce...nor talked about why she left him (the major weakness of their r/s). Both stayed celibate. H reasons are because he still loves h & because he's honoring their wedding vows.

Jane Goodger's A CHRISTMAS WALTZ. The Christmas part is only at the end. The story takes place in Texas and in London--Historical romance. h left her secure, pampered life in England and went to Texas believing she's engaged to a rancher (H's brother who was in England the year before.) Everything her fiance told her was a lie, including his intent to marry her. The H was handsome but a virgin because he focused on his education. He was the doctor of the dirt down and owned the only store. Although a bit shy, he went after what he wanted. I laughed and cried reading this story. Excellent read.

Thank you for your suggestions so far. Keep suggesting as you come across more.

Just a reminder: I want mostly experienced heroes who have decided to stay celibate, NOT virgin heroes. I don't want this thread to turn into a virgin hero thread. There are many separate threads dedicated to them.

P.S. Those of you who have already suggested some books featuring virgin heroes in this thread don't have to remove them. The reminder is just for the future reference.

Adding:

The Frenchman's Captive Wife (Harlequin Presents) by Chantelle Shaw -- H stayed celibate during their 1-yr apart after h left him b/c she thought he was having an affair with his PA and didn't want anything to do with their unborn son

Here's another HP title to add to the list:
A Reason For Being by Penny Jordan
H stayed celibate for 12 years. He fell in love with the h, who was related to him somehow through his father's second marriage, when she was youngish (16, I think). Something happened, and the h ran away. She returned 10 years later, and the book picked up from there. I personally enjoyed this book greatly. Reread every now and then:)

Here's another one:

Waking Up With the Duke (London's Greatest Lovers) by Lorraine Heath

rake H (who's known for his sexual prowess & countless lovers) stayed celibate for 11 months after his 1-month tryst with h who was married to his paralyzed best friend.

*****SOME SPOILERS*********
It was his BFF's idea that they have sex in order to give h a child. Even though H thought he'd never be with h again, he had no interest in bedding another woman. When he & h were reunited (her husband dies), he refrained from sex with her b/c she was still grieving, coming to grips with her husband's lies/deception (with H knowing about it), & she was in her last trimester of pregnancy.

FYI...The most recent bachelor in ABC's "The Bachelor" has been celibate since college (which means some years with no sex) due to his religious convictions. Hunky, intelligent, & sweet guy. You guys gotta watch last night's finale (http://abc.go.com/watch/the-bachelor/SH559030/VDKA0_zw91wdyr/season-finale).

Anyway, here's another celibate H to add to the list:

Never Seduce a Scot: The Montgomerys and Armstrongs by Maya Banks. H has been celibate before due to being discriminating with his lovers. He professed to remain celibate forever with his new wife h who everyone thought was mentally ill because she hasn't talked in years nor seemed to understand what people were saying to her. He did it out of honor.

Here is another one: Runaway Fiancée by Sally Wentworth - hero has been celibate during the separation from the heroine. For about a year I think.

I am not sure but from a aragrah I gathered that the H is celibate in this story The English Lord's Secret Son (Harlequin Romance) by Margaret Way. Did anyone read it? if so can you confirm the H is celibate?

Broken H and h were high school sweethearts but are separated by something the h does. They've been apart for 6-8 years and in that time h has had plenty of one night stands but H hasn't been with anyone else.

romreader,

I don't watch The Bachelor but I did read this on a news site the other day and was quite surprised by it also, usually contestants on these dating shows are portrayed to be somewhat promiscuous and sexually open. I say good for him, he chose to focus on the bonding and connecting part of the relationship rather than the sexual part on it which in the long run is not what usually holds a marriage or a relationship together. Perhaps that is why there are so many divorces these days b/c they have nothing in common outside of the bedroom so when the sex part goes lower on the list everyone bails. I read that Emily Maynard from the Bachelorette did not choose him b/c he was the only final contestants that didn't want to have sex with her during one of their final date. I say he got off lucky, on the other hand she broke off the engagement with the winner (no surprise there).

scientistreader, I say good for him too. He didn't make his celibacy an issue but when the tv staff found out about it then it became a huge deal. To look for love so publicly & to not be embarrassed about turning down a beautiful & willing women for sex even if it means being denigrated for his "manhood", this bachelor (Sean?) caught my attention. He's the kind of Hero I like to read about in my romance novels & to know such a public figure in real life is a bonus. We need more celebrities like him. Their wedding will be also televised but don't know when. I'm sure it will be soon since they're remaining celibate until their wedding (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/13/sean-lowe-catherine-giudici-waiting_n_2867570.html).

I'm just curious... can someone tell my why I was down voted? Did I misread what the creator of this thread was asking for? It's no big deal if I truly didn't suggest a book that meets this thread.

I have no idea, Cmommy I think it is mistake either that or someone is harassing you from another thread in which they did not agree with you.

romance4ever says:
@Cmommy: I have you an up vote because the book was relevant and it was refreshing in that the H was not with other people during the separation but the h was. Sure would have preferred that she date the people as opposed to just sleep with him but still it goes against the typical/standard/grain and therefore I liked it.

Trial By Fire: The Firefighters of Station Five by Jo Davis . He was celibate for a year ( until the h) after years of meaningless s3x. He felt empty and bad after his temporary hoo ups. Warning though: after he thinks h would not want him he ALMOST cheats. Great book though
