I got it too! I just went into my books and it is still there, but it has the newer cover. Does this mean they are eliminating it from our library? I just opened mine and it is still there. Anyone??

Still on my devices, but if you delete it, I bet you can't get it back. And I bet you can't add it if you buy a new device,

And this is why DRM-stripping is so useful. Not so that you can pirate books, but so that you can keep books you've already paid for without Amazon pulling stuff like this on you.

Susan says:
I still have it on my "Manage My Kindle" page too

Agree on the DRM comment. I am a fan of Calibre.

you realize that the email specifically said click to get a refund for the purchase price, so that it can be repurchased....

Susan says:
Yes, but I paid several $$ less than the current selling price on the link.

This just verifies that I made the right decision of buying my eBooks anywhere but Ammy if I can! I shop at publishers sites if they have them, All Romance eBooks, and google. That's why I love Calibre as well Mara.

I just got off of chat, here is the transcript:

You are now connected to Andy from Amazon.com.

Me:I received this email:

Hello from Amazon.com,

We want to let you know that the edition of Beautiful Disaster that you purchased is no longer available. You can order a new version that is now available here:

Beautiful Disaster

You can also request a refund on your original purchase by responding to this email. After the refund is issued, you will no longer be able to access this item.

Thank you,

The Kindle Team

What does it mean?

Andy:Hello, my name is Andy. I hope you're doing well. I'll be glad to assist you with your e-mail notification.

Me:Hi Andy, Is this email from Amazon. Will the book I purchased be taken off of my kindle?

Andy: this books was been pulled down from our website due to several issues with the content. I can gladly refund this content for you, so you can get the new version. Would that work for you?

Me:What issues? Also, no...I would not like a refund because if I repurchase it, it is now a much higher price.

Andy:I've checked and I can confirm the price is now higher, as an exception I'll be glad to issue a promotional certificate of $4.37 so you can still get it $2.99. How does that sound?

Me:That's very generous, but I have already read and enjoyed the book. I guess it depends on what the issues are. Am I missing something from not getting the new version? Also, will the copy still be on my kindle and my account?

Andy:Once refunded, it'll be deleted from your Kindle once your it connects to wifi.

Me:But if I do not get a refund, will it remain on my kindle and account?

Andy:Yes, it will.

However, it'll be no longer available to download if you delete it.

Me:I see. Thank you so much for your help. I will keep the copy I have. Thanks again. Good bye!

Yes, I paid 4.99 for Beautiful Disaster!!!! So I should get the refund and then pay over $7 for it????!!!!!!!
I don't think so. I will not be getting the next book from this author until I see how this plays out! I feel like someone is just using us to make money!

Thanks bookworm! You've managed to answer the question I think most people have. I'm keeping mine too.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 2, 2013 2:05:15 PM PST
i'm not saying you have to do that - seriously - read my messages!! IF YOU DELETE the book it will no longer be on your account - AMAZON WILL NOT delete it without your permission

Deanna L. fisher: you are half right. Amazon will not delete it from existing Kindles. However, if your existing Kindle dies and you buy a new one, the book will no longer be in your account, and you will NOT be able to download it to the new Kindle.

Tala says:
I got that, I'm not disputing that! My issue is with Ammy/publisher, not you. I don't see why I'd have to pay more for the same thing. This really dosen't make much sense, other than trying to make more money off of those who you've made money from before. If it's an editing issue, just release an update.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 2, 2013 2:10:18 PM PST
it isn't an editing issue - it was originally self-published, it has since been picked up by a mainstream publisher - different contracts, publishing info - they cannot just reissue a book with the same info, if it has a new ASIN and ISBN attached which is likely does

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 2, 2013 2:11:34 PM PST
it says that it will be on your kindle and the account - there are 2 different delete methodologies - one is remove from the kindle itself (so it isn't stored there but is on the cloud), the other is to physically delete it from your account via the manage my kindle page and that permanently removes it from your account and no one has access any more

ambrosia says:
Well then they made a mistake, because it is no longer in my library.

Whatever. I've cancelled my pre-purchase of Walking Disaster. I don't have the time or inclination to deal with this. The easiest thing is just not to buy this author's books.

TravelingGal says:
Well, yes. But while it's still listed on my Kindle account, it won't let me download from there to any of my Kindles. And I didn't even get the email. So much for save all of your books in the Cloud so you can have them forever.

This is a post from Jamie McGuire's facebook page regarding this... Readers: It has come to my attention that Amazon has sent a mass email asking readers to request a return for the self-published version of BD. Please do NOT request a return until I get a response from Amazon answering why they have sent this email. Requesting returns will directly affect me, so I ask that you please wait until this Amazon offers an explanation. Thank you!

Deanna L. fisher: I want to apologize! I hope I didn't come off as hostile! I was just annoyed with this situation.

Anyway, I have found the book - it just took 30 minutes of loading my library before searching. Evidently if you search before the library is fully loaded, it can't search all books!
