I haven't read these books yet because I am waiting on the third book so I can read them in order straight through. Can anyone give me major spoilers through the first two books. I thought I had read somewhere that the H is involved with other women while with h - though I quite possibly am thinking of another book. Thank you!!

Posted on Jan 17, 2012 7:04:24 PM PST
No he is not involved with other women. He has a contract, it's a BDSM thing, and when he has a woman under contract, that's it for him.

There was an occasion where he had a former sub obsessed with him, and he does take care of her, but not in a sexual way. He did give her a bath though.

Was the bath scene in book one or two? What does the heroine think of the obsessed sub and bath?

Book 2, and she was NOT happy about it and kinda gave him hell, IIRC. But it was in a "she's totally effed up, I feel like it's partially my fault for not seeing this coming, I want her to get help, and this is the only thing that will calm her right now" kinda way, not in a "this is my ex who I care about and want to help" way. He never had a real girlfriend before Ana, just woman he contracted to act as his Sub. He never loved anyone before Ana, and he doesn't always act the way a man in love should, but it's wonderful, IMO, to watch how he grows and learns.

I know I'm in the minority but I felt Fifty Shades was an uncomfortable read. It wasn't so much the BDSM issues but more the psychological damage done by child abuse and the ramifications that made me cringe a bit. I know why Christian acts like he does and i take on board diremommy's comments about growing and learning but all those control issues just doesn't feel romantic to me. Love shouldn't be that difficult. I'm just not sure that Ana wasn't overcome about how sexual attractive and successful Christian was. Would she have been so eager to deal with all his issues if he'd been some average Joe? That said of course I'm going to read Fifty Freed to see how it all turns out and i really hope there's a huge HEA to overcome my misgivings.

@diremommy: Thanks for the spoilers.

Is book three supposed to have their HEA?

Meg says:
I can't say for sure how book 3 will end, but I can tell you how the original fanfic ended.

@Meg: Yes, please!! I hope it is a HEA, because I already bought the first 2 books and I don't know if I would want to read them if the 3rd book doesn't lead to a HEA :(

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 18, 2012 3:17:11 PM PST
Meg says:
Warning spoilers!

Ok...So there is TOTALLY a HEA! Mrs. R is outed in front of his entire family and friends for what she has done. And evidently she had been holding out hope that Ana was a phase, and he would come back to her.

Her friend that was originally supposed to interview him in book one, finds the contract, and his entire family finds out about them.

Christian and Ana get married.

Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades Trilogy Book 3)

Jmv_17 says:
@Meg: the bdsm aspect of these books - is it in public (like cherise sinclairs books where there are other people who interact with H/h in a sexual manner) or is it between the two of them only and private? I prefer the latter. Thanks again!!

Posted on Jan 18, 2012 7:17:47 PM PST
TrishaLouise says:
Only the two of them in private. Christian does NOT share well with others...... Lol

Jmv_17 says:
@TrishaLouise: Thanks!! I'm glad - I was not a fan of the Sinclair BDSM books; too public for my tastes.

Oh my..... I love, love, loved the ending of Fifty shades freed :) It has to be one of my all time favorite ending and left me very satisfied. I thought the twist she added of being in Christians head was AWESOME!!!

Can't wait to see what you girls thought.

Carrie says:
She didn't give anything away. ;) The part about being in Christian's head was bonus material added at the end of the book. It's Christian's perspective during the interview in FSoG when he and Ana first meet.

edited for my terrible spelling.
