With the holidays about to start I really need a good book for my few days off. I'm looking for a book that has a heroine that is plain or dowdy, preferably bigger, and does NOT undergo any weight loss or makeovers. The hero has to NOT be initially attracted to her. He has been slightly cruel to her. I want heartbreak and a book length read. I'm so tired of these wimpy two or three hour reads. Ugh...Does anyone have any ideas?????

No Jennifer Cruise or Kristen Ashley. I've read them all.

Try Rude Awakening. It has most of what your looking for. There are plot twist that I won't give away but this one is very good. Although you say that you not wanting transfermations another book you may enjoy is Heavy Issues The main character has lost the weight on the outside but she has real issues about it on the inside that effect everthing about her form herself images to her eating habits that are not resolve even with the ending of the book.

Perfection (A Neighbor From Hell) was a good book. It's around 270 pages. Not sure if you've read the series but all three are really good. I can send you all of them if your interested. The other two are Checkmate (A Neighbor from Hell) and Playing For Keeps (A Neighbor From Hell Series)

Never a Gentleman (The Drake's Rakes series) by Eileen Dreyer has a plain h (but not large) if you like historicals.
