"Demon's Souls". It's hard, fustrated and punishing. Yet It keeps you come back for more.

Final fantasy 12. I think this is the best rpg out there right now.

I would have to say The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was my all time favorite! can't beat those great n64 titles!

I'd have to say FFX myself. Incredible story, great boss fights, just awesome!

Mass Effect... Great Story... beautiful graphics... Real time 3rd person shooter combat...
one of the best dialogue trees I have seen in an RPG

Final Fantasy Tactics, with the story and updated dialoge for the PSP it was a masterpiece, I still til this day can't understand peoples efinity for FFX, but oh well

Either Demon's Souls or Fallout 3 is my favorite...Demon's Souls for the punishing yet addictive combat, Fallout 3 for extremely in depth, most varied, and most interesting quests...

I'd consider Dragon Age Origins > Mass Effect as far as the dialogue options go...There is so much more freedom of choice and lasting consequences from almost every major decision you make....I definitely recommend that you check it out stephen if you like ME.

I see a lot of Final Fantasy love here, and I liked FFX a whole lot, but I don't think it's the best ever. In my opinion, nothing beats Oblivion in terms of RPGs. I've put over 100 hours into playing it and never even touched the Knights of the Nine or Shattered Islands expansions. I haven't played much of Dragon Age yet, but it looks like it may be giving Oblivion a run for its money, though, based just on what I've seen so far.

Xenogears FFVI or ChronoTrigger

I'll second that. I like some of the newer RPG's but they just can't hold a candle to some of my old favorites.

Really? I beat it the other day. I literally enjoyed it till the very end, but I will enver play the whole story again.

I will say Mass Effect, but I'm relatively new to RPGs. I just started DA, and that may take it...

Also, I just got KotoR for PC for $2.49, so I need to replay that. I palyed the Witcher, which was fun, but never reinstalled it on my new laptop...

If you still have a Final Fantasy X boner after all these years, it's far too late to see your doctor about it...
Serious...
