Im trying to find the title of one of those old hokey creature feature films, circa 1960 or so. What I remember is someone accidently digs up a box that contains a severed head, and once the box is opened, the head comes alive and immediately controls the minds and actions of whomever it comes into contact. Its quest is to be "reunited" with its/his body {separated and buried back in the days of the witch trials, I believe}. The head never talks until the end {when reunited with the body} - it just has a creepy wide-eyed stare that hypnotizes. The "controlled" person then walks around like a zombie, toting the head everywhere he goes. Can anyone help?

Not EXACTLY the same synopsis, but perhaps "Black Sunday", from1960. (Italian: "La Maschera del Demonio").

I remember that movie...I must have gone to see it at the movies at least a half dozen time. Back then, you could afford to see a movie more than once. Also, they showed double features so you could go in and just stay there all day. Ah the good old days.

I was going to suggest viewing the contents of the 'Mystery Science Theater' sets.

The MST3K version is lots of fun, it is one of my favorites episodes!
