I'm trying to find a short story that I read years ago. In this story, there is no war anywhere in the world, except in Lebanon and some other parts of the Mid East. This is done on purpose as a controlled experiment.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I want to say it's Bradbury, but I can't be sure.

Can't say it rings a bell. Sorry, good luck finding it though. I hate when I remember bits and pieces of a story but can't recall the title.

Thanks, Fullme. I do appreciate your consideration, and thanks for thinking about it.

Mr. Ford, I'n not personally familiar with this piece, but
it certtainly does not remind me of Ray Bradbury. Bradbury,
to my knowledge, never wrote about war. Bradbury was a
guy who wrote about the nature of reality, with science-
fiction/speculative fiction over- and his " Martian Chronicles", and " Boys! Raise Giant Mushrooms". I'll research further. my e-mail is I'm an indie filmmaker/writer in North East Oklahoma.

Reminds me a bit of Mack Reynolds and his "Frigid Fracas" series.

It's definitely not Frigid Fracas although it may be Black Man's Burden, another Mack Reynolds series. Reynolds was an incredibly prolific writer in the 50's and 60's. Mack Reynolds was one of several pen names he used. His real name was Dallas McCord. Many of his books are available for free on Project Gutenberg. I've always enjoyed Reynolds' srories and recommend him.

I read this story, I think in one of the Year's Best by Gardner Dozois. Unfortunately I do not recall the name, but pretty sure it was this series. Bad news is the series is huge.
