Sorry man, but I have to challenge that post as complete rubbish.

I'm not sure if you are all giving the Egyptians their due credit. It SEEMS strange that they should build pyramids, no doubt.... but it's truly incredible how much thrust or pulling power a handful of human beings truly have! Let me tell you a true story: Back in 1978, I was on Steel Gang 981 working track labor in Nebraska, laying "ribbon rail" for the Burlington Northern Railroad. It was at the end of the work day-- in fact many of us were just standing around waiting for the work busses to come get us and haul us back to the train we lived on about 5 miles to the south on a siding. Ribbon rail is a very long piece of rail, the largest gauge of rail that is used here in America. It comes in 1/4 mile lengths and a train that carried it came much earlier and laid it in burrow pit on the side we were working on (the left side). During a normal day, a steel gang of around 110 workers could scrap the old rail, throwing those chunks into the ditch (to be picked up later by a scrapping train) and lay the new rail at a distance of about 1 1/4 miles per day. This rail is solid iron, and stands almost a full foot high. Since it was quitting time, and we had already delayed the 5 or 6 coal trains that were a mile and a half long each and the rail had to be buttoned up. The white hat in charge realized that the rail was about 6 feet short. Not finding a section of rail that could be cut he quickly thought. He instructed a worker to bring a section of heavy cable and had it bolted to the end of that ribbon rail. We were instructed to jump off the bus and grab the cable. Only about 25 could grab, due to the fact that the cable wasn't long enough for any more. When he commanded the group the HEAVE HO! they pulled. Much to my amazement the rail actually stretched about a foot or so. After a few more of those, the welders could seal the seam. That really blew me away.
So, my point is: don't under estimate how much power we humans possess! You should have been there!

Are we that arrogant of a specises that we believe we are the only living being in the UNIVERSE!?!?! We are all educated individuals, of a higher level of intellect. Yet, you can't phathom the possibility that there is another species, more advanced than ourselves, that might be interested in a study of our race? Like bugs in jar...

John McClain says:
"So, during this time, could we gather that the sky was filled with water? Or that the water was up above somehow.... because, right after this, the story of Noah starts. The text goes on to say that at the end of the Noah story, God promised Noah that he would never again destroy the earth by flood....and the sign? was the rainbow. So, there weren't rainbows before the flood??? The Nephilim were washed away."

Or we could go with the much more plausible explanation, which is that everything you just mentioned is nothing but fiction.

**Possibility...yes. However there is a little thing called "proof" that is sadly absent.

Rev.

JAL1628, I think that was one of the flights that I found the most interesting.

It was the Japanese cargo plane that ran into "something" over Alaska. Supposedly two radar stations confirmed "something" was up there and the interviews with the crew were interesting to say the least.

They had a couple of other mysterious cases that I thought were pretty good too.

Do you have a link to an article or something?

what if we sent up chimps in order to monitor their dying for the future manned space flights, and they came down (crashed) very discolored and their fur all frozen off! Some Roswell rancher found them and thought they were Greys?

We know now that the Roswell Commander (under SAC) was informed that the project also included a top secret complex (under TAC) for Test Ban monitoring.

Here's a good book about the Roswell incident if you're interested:

Crash at Corona: The U.S. Military Retrieval and Cover-Up of a UFO

UFO researcher and hero Stanton Friedman is one of the authors of that book. Friedman is also a scientist who has spent literally decades in document archives going through mountains of old government documents to try to discover the truth about flying saucers.

The original press release from the Roswell base was the Air Force had captured a flying disc. That story got 'corrected' very quickly however.

They put out a new cover story about the debris being a weather balloon. But the ranchers around Roswell knew what a weather balloon is and had turned in many of them for the small monetary reward.

spooky

But I'm not really convinced this is good evidence of real visitors from other worlds/times/whatever.

I think the strongest evidence are the witness accounts. They interest me the most.

I think that we are not alone in this universe, but we may as well be. Its just too big for us to ever visit another planet outside our solar system or to be visited by other critters. Rest assured, however, that they are out there buzzing around their sun, visiting their planets.

Use your imagination a little. We can see how far technology has advanced on Earth in just a few hundred years.

Imagine if the human race survives for a million years. Or a billion. What would we be capable of then ?

I don't think the human race has that long though.

Based on what I have read there's like a confederacy of advanced races monitoring our human race at all times. They have a policy of non interference and allow humanity to evolve on its own. They may intervene however if we start approaching something like a nuclear holocaust which would be something the human mind really cannot even begin to truly comprehend.

Hi Jeff,
I work at the lab that sent up that balloon. It was bigger than our two story complex when fully deployed at altitude. It came down in pieces. They often do.

The disc story came about because of the secrecy of the time, and the communication between SAC and TAC. The outer coating and the hieroglyphics recovered at the crash site are a very interesting coincidence, but not at all that surprising today. The markings came from a toy tape used as a stop gap last minute fix on the outside of the experiment, and the mysterious metal was part of a top secret unknown to SAC at the time. They had no "need to know", not even the B52 Wing Commander. Neither did the Holloman operational commanders.

But it all makes for a good story.

Yes, the nurse was horrified when she got a quick glimpse of the Greys. And of course, SAC (Strategic Air Command) intimidated and threatened all the locals. Remember that there was no PETA back then. Attitudes were very different. What the government was concerned about leaking was very different from today.

Yes many years after the Roswell incident the government came out with yet another explanation about what the debris was. This time their story was something about balloons that were used to detect nuclear bomb tests in Russia.

That's a great skill the CIA has. Coming up with what sounds like rational explanations to explain away everything.

Now they've come out and said that it was the CIA themselves who planted stories about flying saucers into the public domain. They claim they wanted people to believe in flying saucers so they would not realize what those things really were like stealth aircraft, etc..

But in reality the subject of flying saucers was secretly given a higher security classification than the hydrogen bomb project. This put peoples' lives in danger if they knew too much about the saucers. The high security classification gave the government spooks the authority to intimidate and even murder innocent people.

Many people died because They Knew Too Much about Flying Saucers.

Its unlikely that civilizations will mingle using conventional physics and newtonian motion. We dont want to encounter the alien species that can fold space.

Lj3d: Its not a question of arrogance. Alien beings either exist or they dont regardless of what we believe. There is no sound reason to automatically believe without proof that they have visited, or are visiting earth. The possibilities boil down to:

1.....No life in the Universe except us because we are the only world that can support life or we are the first. This is the least likely of the possibilities.

2.....Life is so rare, especially intelligent interstellar travel capable Human Level Intelligent (HLI) kinds, that we are too far apart for meaningful contact. In this scenario, interstellar travel capable Human Level Intelligence could be as rare as one per hundred galaxies which would still make them common in a Universe of billions of galaxies.

3.....Life is so common, there are ETs all over the galaxy, many are capable of interstellar travel.

One of these three would explain why there is no credible evidence of visitation thus far. Number 1 is ironic in that we will never know if we are the only planet capable of life. Whichever one a person picks is a reflection of their beliefs or desires rather than a reflection of what the evidence shows. The fact is, we have no evidence of life outside earth as yet. Someday this will probably change. It may start with discovery of microbes on mars or the SETI project picks up a distant signal...who knows. Some alien species might even land and prove their existence to the world beyond a shadow of doubt.

Skeptics such as myself rarely believe that there is no other life in the Universe. Our position is that it is still entirely possible that HLI is just so far away, they haven't made it here yet...or they won't try because its not practical for some reason, distance being just one of the enormous problems to overcome.

Lj3d: The fact Friedman had to spend decades searching for the truth through mere documents, albeit mountains of them...ought to tell people something.
